No I don't. White people clearly aren't white. They're yellow/red. Black is as colourless as white. The idea of calling someone coloured is to start with the assumption that one race is the normal, and that the others aren't. It's a shit term coined by racist (ignorant) white people.

Christ you really do get some strange people on here.I do laugh at why certain white people are called ignorant because they disagree on certain matters,it's not all one way traffic pal as most on here seem to think.

How about, there are only 3 managers who aren't white.

Simple really. Why would you need a description of someone who isn't white? It's surely enough to say 'not white'. I can understand why if you were black, or asian, or whatever, you'd be offended to be all lumped in together under a term 'coloured' just because you're not white. It also is a term very much associated with apartheid and other discriminatory regimes and domestic policy.

It was deemed acceptable by a completely racist country. It was also acceptable to make children work in factories not that long ago. The fact is, it wasn't right then, and it's not right now.

What utter bollocks you talk,we are the most accepting country in the modern world when it comes to religion and diffrent race's.To say the whole country was racist is ridiculous don't you think,I would put money on it that if whites flocked in there 1000's to certain countries they would not be accepted straight away.This is the old we live in,it's a multi cultural world where most integrate and socialise together.

How accepting we are now is not an indication of how racist we used to be. And I didn't say that every individual in the country was racist, I said the country (as a whole) was racist - which it was. All countries were and many still are. There's no such thing as a country (excluding new countries) that's never been racist. We used to trade black slaves - do you not think that was a little bit racist?

No one disagrees with this, it's not the point we're discussing. You said it used to be acceptable to call non whites coloured - I'm just explaining that what used to be ok is not a good indicator of what is right, as a lot of things that we're not proud of used to happen.

maybe the issue is that other races or diffrent ethnicity people should be found a more respectable name to be called,but i get the feeling that even having a name would be seen as racist by most.
