im hearing that if falmer goes (belly up) the club will look at purchasing withdean and redeveloping it! we are told there is no plan b but is this rumour possible ? what kind of capacity could the site hold and if the application fails is withdean our best option.we all want falmer and pray it happens but what would you want to happen if it didnt?

No

Don't believe all you hear.
Only this week the club has had to defend itself yet again because John Catt has gone to the High court to appeal the last decision about Withdean and got Legal Aid to do it.
We are having to fight to stay there temporarily let alone permanently.

I was under the impression that its between falmer and sheepcoat, if its a no to falmer then id imagine the club would push for sheepcoat.

But sheepcoat is so flawed and is a much worse site than falmer so i can't see the application going belly up

And then keep it for a bit longer while it's appealed. Then a bit longer while another inquiry is opened. Then keep it a bit longer while it goes on and on and on.

the club will build a tiny little athletics stadium at the university and then we'll build permananet stands close to the pitch at withdean, rather than increase capacity the club will build 2 covered stands to lure fans back to the stadium with a bit of atmosphere, when this kicks off they'll lower ticket prices and if we're succesful and climb the football league they'll build a couple of new stands.

maybe.

In the ENORMOUS PACKAGE of representations made to Ruth Kelly's department, there are several that emanate from residents of Falmer village who are arguing that the Club should stay at Withdean.

It would be madness if the club haven't got a contingency plan should the Falmer nod go against us, however they're hardly likely to make it public as this would only help the Nimby's cause.

Falmer is the only option
