Sell tickets for the game at 1997 prices?

I bet STH will expect a MASSIVE refund on what they have already paid if they did that.

You can read my poem if u want...

26th April 1997 (with apologies to WH Auden)

Stop all the clocks at 3pm, cut off the office phone,
Silence the North Stand as they sing ”You’ll Never Walk Alone”,
Turn off the PA system and with pipe and drum
Play “Sussex By The Sea”, ere the bulldozers come.

Let seagulls circle moaning overhead
Crying to the sky that our beloved ground is dead,
Tie blue and white scarves about the terraces that I love,
Let PC Beard and Bins wear black cotton gloves.

I stood in the North, the South, the East and West
During my working week and my Saturday rest,
For nigh on twenty years it was my talk, my song;
I thought the Goldstone would last for ever: I was wrong.

The floodlights are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the North Stand and dismantle the Chicken Run,
Pour away the pre-match tea and dig up the pitch for fun;
You may have destroyed our home, but the Albion live on.

Groub blub. :cry: :cry:

That trumps anything on the weepy films thread.

That's really good. That should get printed in the program for the 10th anniversary.

I like the idea of arsing around at Falmer and making a general nuisance of ourselves there, we need something attention-grabbing, like the flowers, say.

Couldn't everyone who is going to the game just pop into The Swan for a pre match pint or two?

How about a huge turnout at the goldstone retail park, clog up the car park from 9am till 2.30pm, everyone go into the shops, get loads of stuff to the checkouts, then simply don’t buy any of it.

Make the staff clear it all up, make sure all the shops there make absolutely no profit on that day.

something should be done, as should something at the retail park to acknowlegde the fact that we played there for years and years

weird thinking back to that day in the pouring rain when storer scored, we went off the bottom of the league and brylcreem, curtain haircuts, global hyper colour t shirts and sega mega drives ruled the world

with all the scarves from last week we could connect the goldstone, withdean and falmer with one long chain and sing sussex by the sea with full marching band in the grounds of that pub in falmer

Not been to Goldstone since is it true that a spot is marked in one of the shops where the centre spot was. Maybe we could all "kick off" in that shop :)

So everyone meets in Hove Park, by the Gold Stone. After a couple of speeches/poems whatever, the Goldstone is 'taken back', with an invasion of Comet or whatever it is.

marvellous!:jester:
