McGhee has got it spot on with his treatment of Knight lately. The sulky diving lazy Knight seems to have gone over the last few games to be replaced by the harder-working stay-on-your-feet version. Once we have a squad that enables us to play 4-4-2 we may well see a better Leon knight up front than we saw last season

You mean as good as last season? 27 goals was pretty fair return, even if there was room for improvement. If McGhee's treatment of Knight does lead to him returning to the team as a better player, then I'll take back the criticism, but it's hard to overlook the fact that we only started to threaten Ipswich when he was on the pitch - we'll see how it develops, I guess, but Knight won't sit on the bench for every away game.

When has he been particualy sulky this season? Work rate looks better.

I would say McGhee needs to careful with falling out / negative treatment of the likes of Knight, as we have a paper thin squad and so cannot and do not have the numbers to have petty squabbles (if one exists) between the players and management.

It is worrying that he seems reluctant to play any of our out and out forwards (Knight, Molango and Robinson) and would rather play either a work horse who has seen better days, a centre back or winger in the forward positions.

Knight has done little wrong this season. The system being played is not to his benefit, but he has at least been trying to fit in. His confidence looks shot, this is shown by how often he plays with his back to goal, but surely the job of the management here is to be building this up, rather than shooting him down. One thing Coppell seems to have been good at was making the players feel they were the best in the world and this does not seem to be happening at present, to those that need it most.
