Depends if i'm in a Dark Star pub....

Although that's only my current phase. Generally, if i'm in bitter mood, then it's Harveys or nothing

I must have worked in the US of A far too long; but I prefer my beer to be ice cold & "lite".

I do love a Steinlager too.

Love Harveys, but love other real ales as well!

Favourite Harveys Brew: All of them!

Favourite other draught real ale: Summer Lightning, Deuchars, Bathams Best.

Remember, there is no bad beer, just some that are better than others!:drink: :drink:

Depends what mood i'm in when I go in a pub! Sometimes it's Ale and other times it's Lager or Cider, The only thing I wont drink is Guinness.

John Smiths?

There are very few bitters that I would sidestep for a lager but that is one of them.

Always Harveys for me.

The No Name used to take it off when they needed to sell other beers, so I always walked straight back out if the Harveys pump was turned round. I'm pleased to say I can't remember the last time I wasn't able to buy a Harveys there. Good that landlords take notice of their regulars!!

I wish they sold Old in the winter as well, though.

Like players in a team it all down to opinion and the vast majority of this fine country of ours think it is good.
I'd hardly say it's the vast majority. I have not seen anyone served it for years, despite it being on in some pubs I go to. No, they drink it because chain pubs (Wetherspoons etc) have it as their nominal 'bitter' as a change from Carling Black lagerpiss. And it's usually very CHEAP.

In a city which is reverting to real ales after years of serving gassy lager, I'd say John Smith's days in Brighton are numbered.

So Brighton is the yardstick to measure the rest of the country by is it.

Nationally it is by far the largest selling bitter. FACT.

Not at all. I never said it was, nor made any implication towards it.

No-one is doubting that. But then, I don't give a stuff about what the rest of the country is drinking. All I know is I don't recall anyone I know who drinks the stuff - understandably. Biggest does not always mean best.

if they serve shit lager, then i'll have a harveys

up here its all about mordue, wallsend brown ale or deuchers

also, is there another harveys anywhere? a friend of mine is convinced that he saw harveys being sold as a guest ale somewhere, and described the logo as the same aswell......but i've never seen it further north than london?
