Greatest Acting Performances Of All Time

I find it unsurprising that US is going for the 'showy' performances.

If we're talking Anthony Hopkins then the two performances that stand out for me were in Remains of the Day and Shadowlands. Silence of the lambs is good but it's all a bit pantomime dame.

I like Jon Voight and to a lesser extent Hoffman in Midnight Cowboy.

Anthony Hopkins - Remains of the Day. An excellent call; the repressed emotion in the scene on the pier is heartbreaking
Midnight Cowboy - brilliant but I do not plan to ever put myself through watching it again

Shadowlands is a great call, it is Hopkins finest performance imo, thanks for reminding me
