That terrible 0-0 Fans Utd against Donny.

I've got very fond memories of our time at Pissfield, though. Used to travel down all on my tod, but ended up making some very good friends through standing on the terraces having a whinge.

.

Lucky you. I met some geezer who's been stalking me and my family ever since....;)

Peter Smith kicking the ball over the (low) stand in the warm up

Jeff Wood's warm up drills

the Barnet defeat (4 - 0?) on Bonfire night when Man U were playing Barcelona on TV - crowd just reach 1,000.

Gabbiadini's hat trick

Gislasson - from Arsenal and was crap

Hilton - not from Arsenal but equally crap

Ifijiagwa's goal

Tony Browne - thought he was good

unrestricted parking around the ground

Uri Geller in hospitality

Andy Ansah in hospitality

Rich Tea biscuits in hospitality

Theres a bloke who still goes to Withdean who was asleep across four seats in the (Gordon Road?) stand. The ball went into the stand and under his seat and one of the players had to come into the stand and get it from under one of his seats, must have been a real morale booster!

I won the half time draw once as well, I think it was called the Withdean wager even then. They used to read out the winning number after everyone had gone (probably in the hope it wouldn't get claimed) but I heard it as I walked down the road.

Not the fondest memory but the most vivid - getting a bit of a slapping from 4 West Ham fans at Blackheath station after an evening game one night. Managed to down one of them before the other 3 layed in before I could leg it home and cry. Thought I would have been safe in Blackheath but they clearly did not like the colours.

I saw my first game there, in which this man scored a hat-trick in a wonderful 4-0 defeat to Darlington.

Fat Palace reject. That 4-0 easily ranks as one of my worst memories at Priestfield. There also seemed to be a sequence of 3-1 defeat following defeat.

Happier memories included the atmosphere was usually alright considering numbers there, it could be a good laugh and by the second season the team was improving.

There was the Mansfield game with the goalie with a black and gold top, who faced chants of “what a waste of honey”, etc. and when he ran up to take a goal kick and the crowd started making buzzing noises, he started to flap his arms mimicking a bee! Also randomly remember one match against Scarborough where it was raining quite hard and one of their fans had an umbrella and faced chants from the Rainham End of “you can shove your f***ing brolly up your arse”!

Brilliant.

Someone mentioned earlier the cardiff evening game, they were top and beat us 2-1 or 3-1 i think. everyone was giving it large to the cardiff players when they were defending a corner at the rainham end - one lad was getting some right abuse but he turned round and said "i'm a f*cking cockney!" before clearing another shite minton corner.

A drunken John Baine urging the Albion on during the game over the tannoy when we drew 4-4 with Colchester

Chumbawumba - i get knocked down being played at most games

Jamaican pasties from the fish and chip shop up the road

Being able to park right outside the ground most games

Gold and silver seats in the stand the Albion paid for.

Wondering what the hell I was doing there virtually every game!!

Fans in firemans hats in that dreadul Fans United game against Donny

"we've got to get out of the place" at the end of every game

5-1 defeat at hands of Millwall in the Auto Windcreens Shield on a Tuesday!

Went on my own as I 'fancied' it and nobody else did.

:thud:

I enjoyed that one as well. :O

Walking out as "We shall come home" by the oysterband thundered out

Waiting for the bus at the Black Lion in Patcham with half the first team and watching them pile into the back of Gary Hobson's Ford Escort so he could drive then all to Gillingham

my memories seem to inslude a lot of duff double decker buses

anyone recall the buses breaking down on Bonfire night during or ssecond season I think. We spent a happy hour or two watchig the various firework displays going off from our vantage point on the hard shoulder of the M20.

and the one that lost third gear on the way home with another 50 miles or so to go, inclusing Bluebell hill

and the one that leaked like a sieve during a downpour

That fat st Johns ambulance man running the full length of the pitch with a stetcher to tend to an injured player, who got up nd hobbled off withe SJA man about five yards away and puffing like a steam engine.

Thinking that Jamie Moralee was the answer to our prayers

Standing under the same ,eaking (and it was ALWAYS dripping) barrel roof at the old Rainham End

i have some fond memories of gillingham ... i would've been 14-16 and those are formative years for any footbal fan, you start to realise what it's all about - then withdean took most of that away, great to be back in brighton but i enjoyed it under that shed at the rainham end.

key games i remember are losing 1.0 at home to halifax town but absolutely hammering them, plus building a good side - culverhouse, barker, thomas, arnott - went to a few away games that season when i think we won 5 or 6 on the trot.

i remember paying 2 quid to get in!

You mean, you remember ME paying £2 for you to get in!!!

I agree with Ernest, I hated every moment there. The long boring train journey, the absolute SHITE team. Gillingham itself.

Took my boy's to the bulk of their early games at Priestfield. I think they love Brighton more for that whole experience. They were actually disappointed to find the club shop wasn't only an ex ice cream van.
