Get behind McGhee he is seriously in credit with this club

The three players you've mentioned there are lower-division goalscorers who are not proven at this level at all. You've chosen three young hot prospects. Of course they will command decent fees.

But they aren't the type of player you're crying out for, are they (except maybe in Parkin's case)? Surely you need a big targetman to play alongside the lighhtweight strikers you do have?

Saturday's game was generally a piece of piss for our defence as you were unable to win anything the air. And that's no suprise given the size of your front men.

Oops, I missed this civilised posting :lolol: Better make a civilised reply then :smokin:

I wouldn't read too much into Saturday's game. You've caught us midway still trying what is still an experimental tactical style. Defeat by yourselves may actually hasten the end of that approach, but we'll see how McGhee responds.

It's a deliberate tactical option by McGhee not playing the targetman. The idea is the 4 quick players find space behind your back 4 through their movement and accurate passing. The theory broke down on Saturday because you defended sensibly and compactly and didn't leave any gaps to exploit. What McGhee has to judge now is whether most Championship teams can do this on an average day for them.

We do have options as targetmen. Turienzo was signed as a mobile ball-playing targetman. We have Big Mac who is very strong in the air but perhaps not as good at El Turi holding the ball up. We have Kazim-Richards who can be used as a targetman and was early season.

These 3 players have been frozen out recently partly bcause of injuries but mainly because they don't quite fit the current tactical style McGhee has chosen.

I would suspect when we see you again in just over a month's time we may have a targetman restored and we may be playing a different style of football, but that depends on our next few games :)

McGhee out ???

What the hell is that about.

McGhee is seriously in credit with this football club and don't forget it.

We had no right whatsoever when we went up from Div 1 in McGhees first season, no one expected us to and McGhee achieved this. Remember the day out in Cardiff, one of the best days of my lifetime for sure.

McGhee kept us up last season against all the odds, we had no right to stay up. McGhee is managing a championship club with div 2 facilities and resources.

We are punching 1/2 divisions above our weight in the present circumstances. McGhee put his faith in this club before he knew whether we would be in the champiosnhip or Div 1 this season when he resigned.

Ok we are having a bad run, 2 defeats in a row, so what. We need a bit of luck and the confidence will come back. McGhee has stuck with us and all the Falmer saga. The chips are down, time to repay Mark's faith in this club now and stop all this nonsense about McGhee out.

We could get noone better than Mark is our position, be thankful for this and give him a standing ovation tomorrow.

Exactly what he said. Gettin rid of mark would be a huge mistake.
