Perhaps my title should have been "in Brighton & Hove City". As I'm pretty confident Portslade is an area located within the City known as "Brighton & Hove".

That would be fine.

Thing is you see (like Timmaaaahhh) Im a Brighton born and bred, so to me Brighton means Brighton, not Hove or Southwick or Portslade etc etc

Don't know about Southend, but certainly there is also London Stansted and London Luton.
