What will you do when we get there in the next 5 years. Walk away from the Albion disgusted at the wages we will be paying players or the over commercialising of the club etc etc.

Embrace it however we would never really get near to winning it as I cannot see how we could pay players £100K a week but you never know.

Part of me will be fecked off if we do get there - ridiculously over priced etc and going into a lot of games knowing we'll probably lose. On the other hand it will be nice to ram it down the plastics faces.

I've never really understood why this should be the case. The top division of English foorball existed long before the Premiership. As a club, we aim to be as successful as possible within the English football pyramid, that doesn't also mean we have to appreciate the changes to the modern game that have come about through the instigation of the Premiership.

But I'm not sure if I'd ever really want to be in the Premiership too long. Mainly because of the ticket prices but also because it strikes me that flirting with several divisions is a lot more exciting than constantly finishing mid table with no chance of ever improving n your current position. Plus, the bigger clubs often encourage a higher proportion of twattish fans, and much as it will be nice to watch Brighton in big stadiums like St. James Park, Emirates, Old Trafford etc., I'm also not convinced that it atually creates a better football experience than some of our days out to clubs which people might seem to hate!

Abort, retry, fail
It is uncomfortable enough that some greaseball can earn £150k a year from kicking all ball around for a few hours a day, let alone £150k a week. I'm not sure how I will feel until that day comes.

I do worry about being priced out of going regularly should we ever make it that far. Then a wave of new, richer fans will take my place to which I will no doubt feel some disgust at. Still, it's a long way away and not worth worrying about just yet

We're not even in the championship yet. However if we sell out at the AMEX next year and sign the right players for the right prices it certainly could happen sooner than expected...

Easy to say it wouldnt be good but that season we stayed up under McGhee was absolutely amazing. Every win was celebrated like a cup final.

This is how it would be in the premier league, the difference being we would be all over the press with everyone discussing us. I think there would be massive massive pride in our city due to the exposure, even more than we have now.

'Brighton & Hove Albion beating Man Utd to finish 17th in the Premiership :drama:'... has a very nice ring to it!

Its not the Premiership that I dont like, I have no problem with the way that teams like Bolton, Stoke, Blackpool, etc have gone about their business.

Its the teams like Man U, Chelsea etc that pay stupidly high wages transfer fees. Sky also have alot to answer for.

Problem is that the novelty of being regularly spanked quickly wears off.

In 1980/81with four matches to go we were rock bottom, but we beat Palace and Leicester to give us an outside chance of staying in the old first (Premier) division, but we were still in the relegation spot.

We went to Roker Park to play Sunderland, and they were a point above us, a 91st minute goal from Gary Williams gave us a memorable 2-1 victory.

There were 42 Albion fans in attendance.

I'd love Brighton to play in the prem. Even if it were for one season, I'm sure if you asked any fans of teams who have made one or two season cameos i'm sure they wouldn't change it for the world. I feel assured that the team is run well enough behind the seasons that we wouldn't commit financial suicide trying to stay up like Bradford, Ipswich & others have.

As a fan i worry about getting priced out of games though. Not in a million years would i be able to pay £40+ every other weekend for away games & i'd hope tickets at Falmer would be priced reasonably.

These days, we'd be able to watch the game live on the telly. Maybe only 14 would go.

Times have changed from the 80's.

Stadiums have got better and travel has got easier.

Look how many we take to Carlisle for a 3rd tier game, Im sure we would take more to Newcastle or Sunderland in the Prem.

And I hear them saying
You'll never change things
And no matter what you do it's still the same thing
But it's not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world will know
That it will not change me

I can't change the premier league, what's important to me is that the premier doesn't change what our club is.
