But the 'chase for Europe' thing is a complete red herring. It sounds like a nice idea, but most teams make a fuss about getting in 7th and then play their reserve teams in the Europa League, and their stadiums are only half full for the home games. In reality every team apart from the top 5 plus Liverpool begin the season fighting relegation, I just find those aims a little dull. I suppose one good thing would be the fact that being a Premiership club gives you a much better chance in the cups, which would inject a bit of excitement, but again it seems like FA cup games hardly attract the crowds anymore.
If we ever made it up there I think all the extra media attention would make games more exciting. True the gloss may wear off if we were lucky enough to stay there for a few seasons but I reckon if we were given a taste of what it was liek we wouldn't want top drop down into the C'ship again!!

What will you do when we get there in the next 5 years. Walk away from the Albion disgusted at the wages we will be paying players or the over commercialising of the club etc etc.

Honestly? Since you ask, I've been wondering what I would do. Initially I think I'd embrace it and love it if and when it happens. If we wind up paying players £20k-£40k per week then that would be fine as long as it is covered by TV revenue, stadium sponsorship and other commercial projects. If however, it is expected to be covered by ticket prices double those that we pay today, then like most people I would assess whether I feel that it is worth it for the entertainment (sometimes excitement) that I get from it and if I feel the value then I'd keep paying and if I don't then i'd make it a more occasional pilgrimage and find a more affordable option at a humbler level (for me and where I live, that would be AFC Wimbledon).

I never thought, I'd ever suggest watching another team instead of us, but under extreme circumstance, it would be an option.
