No. Don’t usually anyway but would particularly avoid this weekend.
It’s likely to be like Bournemouth beach last week ie packed and perfect for spreading the virus.

God no.

I'm not booking to go to the pub. I like to pop down my local if it's a nice day, if I've got a spare hour after I've finished everything I need to or I simply fancy a pint. Going for a two hour slot is the sort of thing you do for the dentist or the doctors. That's before you get into

"Two metres mate, All lives matter"
"Landlord, can I have 10 Jagerbombs for the lads Oi oi. I've got an easyjet refund to blow“
“Do I come to the bar or do you come to me"
"It's one way, go left, not right, no not that left. Only one at a time in the bog. Queue starts 1/2 mile away"
"Let's get the Coronas in!!! #Bantz

Bollocks to all that.

No. Idiotic by the Government to do this on a Saturday. Should have done it on a quiet Monday with none of this crap about “Independence Day/ “ Super Saturday.”

They can't win though - open pubs on a Monday and it's for those still working it's 'why are they opening pubs on a Monday whilst I'm working and all those that are furloughed can go down the pub'...

The only pubs I'll be going to are ones I trust (probably micro pubs) and ones with prebooking.

I have managed to get a table at the Fox & Finch in Worthing next Thursday to start with, probably wait for the Brookstead and give it a few weeks for other pubs but will prefer those with outside areas
Are the micros near you opening? It's hard to keep ant social distancing and also get enough people in to cover costs when you're a micro.

It would have been more sensible to open at the start of the working week. Gives everyone an opportunity to see how it works before the busier times at the weekend.

Well, you don't generally go to Tesco's to socialise do you? Then throw alcohol in to the mix. No one's going to be wearing masks while drinking obviously so the microscopic spittle is going to be flying. Pubs tend to be much smaller than your average supermarket too. Loads of clusters around the world are connected to social spaces. I'll be giving it a miss anyway. Although a nice, big beer garden might tempt me.

What is it about TESCO that people feel the need to pluralise it or add an S?

TESCO needs adding to the English GCSE syllabus, for my blood pressure if nothing else.

Most of them have been open throughout selling takeaways only. One of them is reopening next Thursday, strictly bookings only, 2 sessions per day (early evening, late evening) etc. The other is finalising plans but will be doing the same - but a step further as table service only and order via an app for delivery to table.

Short answer no - I am looking forward to a quiet pint in a pub garden at some point in the next few weeks. It won't be this weekend.

I have a feeling there will be people who never go to the pub, who will have booked a table somewhere, just to be able to tell everyone. We had this for a while at Withdean, before the capacity was increaseed. If you didn't have a season ticket, it was bloody difficult to get to a game and this seemed to attract a certain type (I have connections and know how to get things sorted me). Once the capacity increased it became much harder to fill seats as the wheeler dealers lost interest.

I think the trouble spots will be street drinking. Once the mob realise it isn't a pub free for all, they will clear the local mini marts of cans of lager and vodka and this will be where things will kick off, if anywhere.

No - Dying for a pub visit and pint or two - but will wait until it settles down for a while and new proceses smooth out - that said all these pub protocols are not sppealing at all ....

Definitely not. It’ll be chaos and very unrelaxing. Have a meet up planned for a weekday afternoon in The Buck and then on to The Welly week after next. Nice beer gardens and hopefully will be well in the swing of things by then.
I imagine pubs will be a nightmare on “Super Saturday”.
Nevertheless, I hope those that do brave it have a good time and I’m interested to see how it all goes.

My local pub the King and Queen in Caterham isn't opening because with the one metre rule they can only get a maximum of sixteen people in the pub.
I don't drink at home and am gagging for a decent pint but I.I'm happy to wait, haven't had a proper pint since Wolves away.

Ha I tried to get access yesterday to audit there

Gods country fortnightly
Just had an inside peek at my local, they've tried really hard and built an outdoor wooden structure

I'll avoid this weekend but will give it a shot next week when the novelty has worn off. Really wanna support these local businesses but I must admit I don't fancy venturing indoors

It will be interesting to hear people's experiences on here after weekend,, pretty negative I guess...

As I said previously my wife has booked us a table at The Ivy, got an email yesterday saying they will be temperature testing us prior to entry, good job the wife’s paying as I would be sweating a lot otherwise!!
