Wise's record as a manager is pretty impressive all things considered.

Millwall 40.45% of games won.
Swindon Town 52.94%
Leeds United 47.47%

Still would rather Coppell or Curbishley though.

I have no objections to Wise like so many others, I wonder what he would be like as a man manager however I do not believe he has a record of upsetting players he has managed.

I also would have others ahead of him purely on an experienced level.

I have seen little evidence to make me think Dennis Wise, as a manager, is a 'winner'. Even the one positive on his managerial CV - the FA Cup run - hardly reads like a who's who of giant-killing...

Walsall (2nd tier - relegated that season)
Telford United (into liquidation that season)
Burnley (2nd tier)
Tranmere Rovers (3rd tier)
Sunderland (2nd tier)

Well why not ? If Wise's "achievement" of getting Millwall to the Cup Final is being heralded as a reason we should consider him a good manager, then its worth having a squint at who they met on the way to get there. Not like its something difficult to find out is it.

Wise is a nasty, violent, boss-eyed little thug with a questionable track record in management. I wouldn't want him anywhere NEAR the Albion.

As I can't be arsed to read all of the previous comments, so it may have already been said, but as far as I am aware Wise is still being paid by Newcastle. Therefore does he need to work, or do the terms of the retainer he is on prevent him from taking up other employment in football?
I don't know, and frankly don't care, but he would not be my choice as our next manager!

I am sure I read somewhere he still gets about £100,000 a month from the toon, running until the end of his contract.

Wise comes across to me as a nasty little piece of work, however that has no bearing on why I don't want him as manager. He just doesn't seem that good. There are better candidates around in my book.

Nonsense....All the managers us lot have ever wanted have all failed or left the club.I now want a tough manager who care's for no one but the team and his career..Not someone that waves when we ask, picks his team to please others.Basically i want a right cu%^ who just wants to win. If Wise wants to come(a big IF) then let him do so and let's have a go at winning some matches!!!!!

Wise is probably the last name out of the very list of names mentioned so far that i would want to be given the job

If it's going to upset The Large One then I'm all for Dennis Wise coming...

I'd prefer Coppell though.

Wouldn't be my personal choice, but I would back him if he got the job. As long as he brought Gus Poyet with him. When the two of them were at Leeds they done well. It started to go down hill wen Gus left. Would much prefer Coppell tho.

Oh and a note to those "fans" who say they wouldn't attend games if Wise got the job, I wonder if they would still be saying that if we went on a winning streak and shot up the table? I think we know the answer to that one!

Sure, if he kept banging on about "some of us have morals" as if others have none. Football ia just about winning - and Denis Wise is a f***ing winner!

What is wrong with you? 1st you wouldn't shut up about sacking Slade & now you've got your way, you want the nastiest most unpopular man since Bellotti to become our manager. Do you actually support Brighton?
My only consolation is IF you once again get your wish & sir Dennis is installed & If (god forbid) we show no improvement, you can't be on here constantly whinging about it like you were with RS.

The Lion King episode when he was on top money at Newcastle I just can't out of my head - not someone to have next to you in the trenches showing that sort of character trait. NO!! Curbs or Copps for me.
