So bid now if we want him... this is the one key gap in our team IMHO

The Athletic are reporting our interest in Nunez.

https://theathletic.co.uk/1959808/2020/08/17/transfer-news-tracker-brighton-darwin-nunez/

The last two paragraphs:

Brighton want to add a younger, more mobile version of 36-year-old Glenn Murray to the attacking options for head coach Graham Potter and Nunez, at 6ft 2in, fits the profile. His pace, physical strength and finishing prowess has prompted comparisons with his compatriot Edinson Cavani.
Sheffield United are also being linked with Nunez, although other areas of the team are understood to be more pressing priorities for manager Chris Wilder.

This guys seems the type we need, bit of a punt to see if he's Prem standard though. The Athletic just posted an article confirming our interest.

Talksport have obviously jumped on naylors tweet.

BREAKING: Brighton are chasing £14M rated Darwin Nunez.

The striker scored 16 goals in 30 games for Almeria in the Spanish Second Division

- talkSPORT sources understand.

If we're going to take a punt, then this one seems to most fit what we need. That might mean we can get him for £10-15million instead of spending double that on someone like Watkins or Edouard. Gives us spare cash for another position.

A ‘Murray’ with pace? They could have have just said a young Zamora.

No science in this as no two players are the same, but we bought both Ulloa and Hemed from them, when we were championship and they were Spanish second, as they are today.

Both Ulloa and Hemed were very good championship players. Hemed is never PL, and whilst Ulloa did make the step up, he was more bit part in the Leicester PL first team after accustoming for a while in the championship.

Darwin is coming from the same club and level both Ulloa and Hemed came from, to come into the PL first team, he'd have to be arguably better than Ulloa was?

We paid a couple of million for Ulloa. DN will cost 10 times as much so he'd have to be a damn sight better.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

The big difference is this guy is just 21, playing his first season on a different continent and still managed 16 goals in 30 games.

From what little I've seen, he has plenty of potential for Potter to work with.

Apologies if I missed this but I only skipped through the previous posts so this could of already been said, but surely this is an ideal situation to off load Andone with a plus cash deal. He came from Spain and this just seems too good of a chance to miss to ge trid of TLS once and for all.

TLS?

Can't see Andone being up for a drop to second tier football.
