But surely no-one would dare attack a team that, in Zaha, has the world's first billion pound player in it?

100 appearances in 7 years at Cardiff and injury prone..... sounds ideal!!!

Blake missed Cardiff's 2011-12 pre-season through injury but returned in a 1-1 draw with Burnley coming on for Joe Mason on 20 August. His first start of the season was the following game against Huddersfield Town. He made his 100th appearance against Portsmouth on 27 August, which was also his first league start of the season. His impressive form for Wales, didn't help his chances in cementing a first-team place in the Cardiff squad. This led to former Wales striker Iwan Roberts questioning his future at Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff boss, Malky Mackay, replied to this saying Blake was "in his plans" but his injuries and fitness were a problem. Despite Wales' winning ways with Blake in the side the newly partnership of Mark Hudson and Ben Turner kept him at reserve level at club level, His 100th appearance came in a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on the final day of the 2011. However it took him 4 months into the new year to make his first appearance of the year, which eventually came against Middlesbrough.

From BBS "Big Cardiff fan - my boss at work - says he is really liked at Cardiff and their most consistent player and is very adaptable and can play in midfield as well as centre back. Sounds good to me."

...but why would Cardiff release their best player and more importantly why does he never play for them? Quite a coup for Palace!!!!

To be fair, IF he stays fit Darcy Blake is about a MILLION times better than that carthorse Paddy McCarthy, so he should improve their defence a bit.

Thought he was a right back? Has Joel Ward been condemned already after Palace conceding 7 (SEVEN) in their opening two league games?

Quite a good signing really, always though he was a FB tho, but as already mentioned versatile enough to play CB too.

Would of quite liked to have him as a back up defender here now that Tommy has gone.
