I actually can't think of very many.
Roberto Mancini was a fine player in his day, but other than that most of the Premiership seems to be made up of men who are better managers than they were players.
Liverpool have Dalglish, who was a pretty special player in his day by all accounts, but that was a long time ago.
And there's Steve Bruce. He had a top playing career.
But I think those are the only three in the top tier who played at the very highest level.
So how about further down the leagues?
