Indeed, but that only tells part of the story. A dogged 17 from 52 balls, keeping the openers at bay and giving Ireland a chance to bat undefeated through their 50 overs. Its the same kind of stout resistance currently being shown by Captain Marvel down at Hove that is the difference between a collapse to 399 all out or the attainment of that crucial 5th batting point. Wells will do 'well' (ha!) to learn to knuckle down more.
