Gentlemen!

I turn my back and have forty winks, as is befitting an old boy, and DKM & TG have a love in. I'm glad to have been able to bring you two together, but please don't send me an invitation to the wedding.

It's not so much loving Blair as remembering the misery of Thatcherism and the ineptitude of Major.

Then recalling the heroic role of Howard during that time.

Though I'd prefer socialism (warts and all) it's Blair' s party for me,even to the point of tactical voting for the Social Democrats to oust a Tory where Labour has no chance.

And England should have scored 12!

:lolol: Now this for me is post of the week.

The fumbling efforts of rightwingers trying to use political correctness to their advantage, it's f***ing hilarious!

Didn't I forecast on NSC that we would see more examples of this particular brand of gross hypocrisy after those pathetic attacks on Ken Livingstone recently? Well done Parks :lolol:

but you ARENT voting for Blair. this isnt america.

you could be voting for Dave Lepper, or Des Turner, or whoever they got to replace Ivor.

plus the way the media has created the image that the whole show is run by Blair is very inaccurate. His days are numbered even if he gets re-elected.

Can I underline these two VITAL points. Blair is history, we are now moving into post-Blair politics. Suspend your personal hatred of Blair and realise that a Labour vote is going to give you a different PM to him, probably two to three years into the next Parliament.

Realise that neither Dave Lepper or especially Des Turner are Blair fans. Both will not vote for a Blairite clone in the forthcoming elections for the Labour Party leadership, which will pick the new PM. Both have done a lot to oppose the Blair agenda, Lepper very quietly and diplomatically, Turner more publically in his frequent Parliamentary rebellions against Blair's excesses. Both are strongly anti-war.

Punishing Lepper and Turner for Blair is utterly idiotic, both if returned to Parliament will push for very different politics to Blair.

Dave Lepper is in a safe seat and will easily get back, but Des Turner faces a real fight against the Tories.

Now let's remind ourselves about the Kemptown Tories, these are the ghouls who ditched their recent candidate because HE WAS IN FAVOUR OF OUR FALMER STADIUM!

Do you REALLY want that kind of anti-Albion Tory in Westminster representing Brighton when Des Turner has a perfect record of supporting the Albion? If you live in the Kemptown constituency, a vote for Des Turner is a must. Don't waste your vote on fringe parties or spoilt ballots. If you care about our stadium fight, vote Turner. If you care about the politics of social justice, vote Turner.

I'm no Labour Party hack and if Ivor Caplin was standing, I would agree that a vote for him is a vote for Blairite politics. But for reasons best known to himself, he isn't standing, so he's not an issue now.

Even though I live in Lepper's constituency, what time I have will be spent pounding the streets delivering leaflets and canvassing for Des Turner.

Of the near-400 Labour MPs in Parliament, around 30 have consistently voted with their conscience despite constant threats from the bullying Blairite party managers - this "awkward squad" of brave Labour MPs have all voted against the war, against Foundation hospitals (NHS stealth privatisation) and against top-up fees for students.

Des Turner is one of those 30!

He has performed heroically in Parliament over the last eight years and has received little credit for it.

If you seriously hate the way Blair has squandered the promise and idealism of that landslide 1997 defeat of the Tories, then voting for Des Turner is one of the BEST ways you can ram it down the throats of those Blairites responsible for that.

Paper speculation - if Blair came out and made that statement I might consider voting Labour ( assuming he could be trusted to be telling the truth ).
As it is there's no guarentee that a Blair clone wont the next PM

Strange, many Labour supporters on here have stated that the decision is not a political one but rather one based on planning issues. Now you're saying it's a political one - make up your bloody minds.

Didn't stop the policies becoming reality though did it !

DKM and I have been an NSC item for years. We're talking ye olde stylee clique...:lolol:

BTW 'Wizard', a little suggestion - if you can't handle/don't like people coming back at you, then as a general rule be a bit less patronising. If you're able to take it, fine - let battle commence.
