Sorry to have missed this top rant before posting my last comments.

Was there anything fundamentally hang draw and quartering wrong with what Mrs Bigot said? Probably not. Would it have done your ears in given the difficulty of trying to get a word in, let alone continue along one's way? Probably yes.

But as you rightly say, spending so much time in Lewes means I have no idea of the gritty reality that is life for everyone else. I just burn things.

EVEN IF you don't agree with 'Mrs Bigot' or have no sympathies whatsoever about her line of questioning - she is a labour voter, she is one of many people with a viewpoint that Brown is supposed to give his time and efforts, and she had questions that many across Britain are asking. Her line of questions probably weren't unreasonable for most of the population.
Regardless of the mic being left on - he haplessly gave his honest crass opinion of those people and of a member of his voting public. That opinion will enable a LOT of people to draw an opinion of HIM!
