Brentford TRAIN tickets

I've got my train route sorted, quick question: are there any pubs and/or off licenses outside Clapham Junction? Only ever changed there before so never ventured outside.

As mentioned there's a 20 minute wait so could do with a stock up...the prospect of another 4-0 reverse will be somewhat numbed by having a few beers beforehand!

There is an M&S and Sainsbury's in Clapham Junction (Go towards Platform 17 and pass out that way) and a few pubs dotted about outside - One on the corner if you turn left out of the station (Platform 17 end). Nothing grand to report about though. Better pubs towards Battersea Rise, but if you only have 20 minutes then you would not make it.

£46.80 for 5 adults and 1 child.. Portslade to Brentford Return using a Railcard and Groupsaver. Bought the Portslade to Victoria advanced ticket with Railcard but getting off at Clapham.. £34.30 Return. Then Clapham to Brentford Groupsaver ticket £12.50 return. £46.80 TOTAL.. split 5 ways = £9.36 each :clap2:

There's also a LIDLs at CJ, you can see it from the train.

Changing at Clapham means another TWO trains though, which is aggro CENTRAL.

For the sake of a couple of quid I think I'll do Victoria and get the tube to South Ealing.

Only one train if you get the one that goes via Richmond.

No.

Clapham to Richmond (one train)

Richmond to Brentford (one train)

= (two trains).

Nope.
Train to Vicky, then Circle or District to the Picadilly, then along to Saaf Ealing.
There are some closures on the Picadilly, but those up up round Uxbridge and Harrow so won't affect the journey.

Won't be using the Victoria Line anyway, just the overland into the station. And the circle/district closures are to the east anyway, so no probs getting to the Picadilly.

I am edging towards the underground option too, especially when you think of after the game when we'll all be travelling back at much the same time. Wouldn't fancy the bus q.
