Madeira Drive was closed to through traffic and under the road bye laws that included the bike lane which is part of the road along Madeira Drive.

No doubt about it, the numbers were very poor. BBC reckoned there were over 200,000 on southsea common after Pompey won the cup and bankrupted themselves in the process a couple of years ago.

Hardly the same tho is it.

That was our THIRD championship celebratory parade in the last 10 years.

That was Portsmouth's FIRST Cup win in the last 70 years.

We are bit more blase about this sort ofthing than they are

There were about 300 people on Marine Parade.

There were about 7,000 on Madeira Drive though.

For some not so local fans, those with established plans and especially those with very young kids it was a bit of a strange time to hold the event. Previously the crowds were better when they held the parade in the morning.

WHY are people so concerned as to how many turned up? Is it so if any figures are announced by god knows who!!! some can say......."I Told You SO" because this, in my opinion is PATHETIC!!!!!

I have 2 season tickets......i did not go...why.....cos I live in F*****G wales!!!! PLEASE PLEASE debate something which matters.....like how many rubbish bins there were at the Parade!!!!!!

i didnt go and having read this thread ive decided to do the decent thing and cancel my season ticket for not being worthy as i didnt want to spend a sunday waving at a bus

Well i failed to find one for about 750meters as i followed the bus and i reckon i walked about 2.5k's so about 3.33 on the route.
