How soon is now?
Maybe i'll get some flack for this but i'd like to thank Billy Sharp for injecting a bit of atmosphere into Withdean. His moaning was hilarious and once he'd wound the crowd up there was a real sense of spirit, certainly in the South stand..

And on another note, i'm getting a little concerned that although we're not losing we're still sliding down the table. Its still a little too close fo comfort

Totally agree. After his booking I was almost kind of hoping he'd score, because I was certain his celebration would have involved some kind of gesturing towards the crowd earning him a second yellow.

Hopefully a win at home next week will dispel all fears.

I believe that the best we have played this season was away to Huddersfield.

To be fair to Huddersfield they had all their right sided players injured that week which was why Coxy had such a free reign to suppy Jake. That's not to take anything away from our performance but we won't find it as easy next week as the Terriers have found some form lately.

As the saying goes you can only beat whats put against you.

Like most teams they have sacked the manager and then hope to go on a bit of a run so lets hope we can stop them.

If I was the Scunthore manager I would be really pissed off. If they put half the energy they put into whining into playing they would be a lot better. Nastiest, whiniest bunch of tossers I've seen for a long time.

They are top, not sure he is too bothered!

As for Sharp he did one thing yesterday and that was set up the goal, not to bad.

What, John Thierry? ;)

To be fair to Sharp, I thought he looked like a decent player. He spun off the shoulder of our defenders plenty of times, but always had the ball under control, which is the difference between an average player and a good one. He didn't have a great day in front of goal, but he certainly looked capable of stepping up to Championship level at least from where I was sitting.

Whingey little twat, but then I think that worked in our favour, as it got the crowd and the players going.

I thought he was great. Wound the crowd up, looked a really skillful aggresive forward..wish we had someone like him and so do the rest of you who grew to hate him so much so quickly :lolol:

Funny because does anyone remember playing Scunthorpe a few years ago at Withdean when i think Brian Laws was manager. If i remember the score was 0-0 and they were just the same then.
Remember that only too well, one of the most frustrating games EVER because not only did Scunthorpe act in the same manner, the game was totally shit too, and for Billy Sharp just replace him with Guy Ipoua.

Angry Days.

Billy Sharp stirred up the legendary Withdean Roar which is some achievement. The noise was so great that Mad John Catt was on the phone to his legal-aid-financed solicitor followed by the Socialist Workers' Party....errr I mean the Society for Whinging Residents to further his campaign to eternally silence the Albion.

Can't remember seeing a team quite so arrogant that they felt they deserved to get every decision on the basis that they were top and that's how it should be!

It was hilarious though. All the wingeing and the crowding round the ref and shouting at the linesman. It was as if they thought that they could put a black kit on and play at being Manfuckingunited with Sharp playing at being Ronaldo. Maybe it's deliberate but you just wanted to scream at them - you're Scunthorpe United and you play in League One! Get over yourselves!

Acknowledging those who saw the incident more clearly than I did, from the family stand the swing at one AeA looked really nasty - and I wasn't surprised he went down - and was expecting another red card. However, as you may be aware, the family stand is approx 3 miles from the pitch and I didn't have my binoculars.
