I got my bike through a cycle to work scheme, Bought a £800 Giant mountain bike and paid just over 400 in total for it spread over 12 months so didn't even really notice the cost at all.

So did I. A £400 hybrid bike reduced to £339 in the sale, amounting to about £18 a month in real terms.

problem for me with that cycle to work scheme is that i havent got a job:lolol:

Trouble for me is that I'm self-employed. According to my accountant, I can't even count a bike as a business expense if I did buy a new one. If governments are serious about carbon emission, that's something they be looking to tackle.

See if you can register your own company in the scheme, I'm not sure there is a limit on the size of company, and I don't think there is a requirement to use the bike for work purposes.

As I thought there doesn't seem to be much difference spec-wise.
(If I'm reading it right) The Felt gives you less gear options, but I doubt you'll be needing all, anyway.

I suggest you find out when they are all in, sitting on all 3 should tell you which is for you.
The Trek is widely available but the other 2 will be harder to find beyond Evans.

I would probably take the Kona, over the Felt, with the Trek trailing in last. (I'm not a Trek man).

Go to Evans in Brighton, for a deposit they will order two bikes in for you to try if they do not have them in store. If you do not like either you can then order the other one in to try. The deposit is fully refundable too. In my opinion the trek is the best bike out of those, has a better frame than the other two. In fact looking again I would not even think about the Felt, it has a dodgy chainset and the hubs are super cheap. Kona or Trek it has to be. Also at the bottom of the Kona description it says that the frame is compact so comes up smaller, this is true but not by as much as it says.

At that price point you will get more for your money from the larger brands Trek, Specialised and Giant. That being said I have an irrational hatred of Specialised for no reason other than they are too common.

The law is on their side. However if it has mostly been in being repaired they should still refund you. As others have suggested get in touch with head office. Their customer service department will almost certainly give you a refund as that is what these people do and they cannot be bothered with the hassle.

For me it's Trek, for all the same reasons.
If the 3 were a Specialised, Kona and Felt.
I would have gone with the Spesh for the reason you went with the Trek.

There is one other reason too. When I worked for Evans we would get never ending customers asking about Specialised. We did not stock them in Brighton but could order them in, people would often then just walk out. Many idiots seem to think they are the only decent bike brand. Despite all this I still sold more Hardrocks than anything else, I hate them.

Just working through some personal issues there, sorry.
