For you to cover my job, you'll need to know Sybase SQL, be able to debug J2EE Java server code, you'll need to be comfortable managing Unix processes, have Unix scripting knowledge and be able to write VBA code that doesn't break and covers up some of the limitations that Excel has and runs quickly - important when dealing with memory intensive real time links.

For me to do yours, I'll need to know some phone numbers and how your filing cabinet is arranged.

And obviously, you'd need some school qualifications which I'm glad to see, you already have.
Interesting point, you have to agree though taking the dragons den as an example, the nerds turn up with their software and computer systems and cant pitch, f***ing twats!

The only people who fail as estate agents are the ones who aren't prepared to work hard or who do not like 11 year old humour all day

I';ve never understood the percentage game for EA's

ok a bigger house takes slightly longer to detail and walk round but essentially you do the same amount of work for all properties, if anything smaller houses get more viewings because and require more work because they have a bigger target market surely ?

on the two properties I've sold I agreed a fixed fee in advance.

Estate agents.

Hmmmm, lots of sweeping generalisations on here, probably from people who resent having to pay to sell their house because they can't do it themselves.

Of course there are bad ones, just like my last one. She was perfectly nice and wanted to give me top customer service and so made me her priority when she got to work. Always called me as soon as she got into work. But I had moved to Canada and it was 4am in the morning here. Couldn't afford to tick her off though.

And if you think 2% is bad, you can pay 6% over here.

Anyway, page 8 and no nomination yet for LAWYERS. Can't believe it.

I love fixed fee's, if the property is down valued or price is reduced due to survey you still get the fixed fee:clap2:

No but then the same could be said about most peoples premise based on selling twice zfelly for example

But that's the exact point. Most of this thread is bigotry aimed at estate agents, recruitment consultants or other trades based on a few negative experiences.

I bet the majority of people on here have jobs and houses gained through an estate agent or recruitment consultant yet they talk all this nonsense about them.

It's all just generalistion, it's pathetic and it's no different to saying that black people are stupid or a women's place is in the home.

If I came on here saying that video piracy was a crime, that the people who do it are evil parasites who deny the artist the revenue they deserve and that everyone who does it is scum and should be locked up how would you feel (and yes, I know you donate the proceeds to a good cause and I bought an FA Cup DVD from you!)? ???
