Wonder what the fees are for each player, i cant imagine there will be too much difference, ive never seen Buckley play but he's had a fair bit of championship experience in a pretty good side. Im pretty happy with this.

Buckley sounds a good player, but EB is our best player and will be very tough to replace. Time will tell in both cases, but while I think the Hoskins / Murray 'one in one out' was probably good news in footballing terms, I'm not so sure about this one. From a continuity point of view, the spine of the team will look very different in August (with El Abd injured). Let's hope we don't lose any more key players and that the rest of our signings are additions rather than replacements.

Tend to agree. Gus has always said that if a Premiership club came in for any player then as a former player himself he would not stand in that players way as long as the clubs agreed a fair price. Can't blame Elliott for taking the opportunity along with the huge wedge, but he is young enough to have done at least a year with us and assuming his continued improvement it would have been possible that a more stable Premiership club (stable as in above the relegation zone) would have been after him. Still, I feel Buckley is an adequate replacement especially with his Championship experience. :)

So two in and two out and i can only presume we are still after 6-7 new players?

Maybe not, Gus didn't say the 6 or 7 new players depended on others leaving, I'm pretty sure he knew Murray and Bennett were gonna leave and he's replaced them with players with championship experience. Gutted Bennetts going but that's football......heard good things about Buckley so may not be the disaster some people think. I would guess the two Wills are part of the 6/7 Gus has planned

Still not sure if this is the right move for him. Norwich are seriously gonna struggle next year and I can't see them finishing above the bottom three...

If I were him id give the Albion half a season to see how things pan out and then choose in the Jan transfer window

Even if Norwich go down, currently they are a bigger club than us and he'll have increased his wages hugely. Therefore I can't see it as anything but a good move for him.

He may never get the opportunity to play in the premier league again is what you have to remember, and hes bound to double his wage i would have thought, he gets my best wishes. I think Norwich may suprise a few.

If he goes that is...

That's the way I read it. Full-back cover, a centre half, two midfielders and at least one more striker depending on where he plays Buckley so that's 6 or 7. So far we've not added at all just replaced.

Even if Gus knew about the Murray/Benno loss when he said 6-7 new players , this was before the injuries to AeA and Elphick . My biggest concern remains the weakness of our defense at the start of the season. Early days yet so lets hope Gus has plenty up his sleeve. I was going to say 'keep the faith' but that smacks way too much of a previous leader and would hate for that to rub off!

Frustrating first few weeks of the close season. Got rid of alot of deadwood but also 2 of our best players, agreed though they have been replaced with exciting quality players. Just hope thats it of players exiting now and we can start to build a stronger squad. Long way to go!!!!

It is actually two out and four in, we signed the two young Chelsea lads. Plus we released a few so the throughput of players is significant.

Plenty of time to sign about 5-6 more.

Would like to see a first choice centre back and left back. I dont think Painter will be able to cope with the quicker pace of the championship and while has been one of our most solid players this season, he is very slow IMO. Another centre back to compete with Greer and ElAbd for the starting roles with Elphick and Dunk as backup.

Would like to see a quality creative central midfielder and 2 quality strikers. Not the 'can play out wide' type of player just through the middle, good with his back to goal, run all day sort of player and is dangerous in front of goal.

Oh also KLL on a season long loan.

Please................................................. Any chance or am i living in a dreamworld??

We need to find a set-piece specialist.

Hoskins takes the penalties and I believe Buckley is at home with freekicks.

I love Benno. The best Albion player I've seen in ages, he really is amazing but we have signed Buckley who I'm convinced will be our best player next season. He's quality on his day and the idea of having Gus work on him is so exciting. Yes we lost Bennett but Buckley is an incredible replacement - arguably better in some respects. Time will tell.

Now let's go back to Watford again and pinch Doyley. Up the Albion!
