Bellotti said history would judge them

When you say "delivered a ground", do you mean "delivered a ground to B&Q"?

On the balance of history, I would say, unequivocally, NO! If Bellotti had ever meant for us to have a new ground, he would have started the ball rolling before selling the Goldstone out from under us.

probably not....remember they didnt have the council on their side, in fact the discussions about Toads Hole Valley was refuted by the council.

I still think its a shame Bamber's vision of a stadium sharing with Palace at Gatwick didnt come off. A 50,000 odd stadium would have been one of the first state of the art stadium and have got in before all this planning bollocks came to the fore.

Question is, would the old regime have delivered a ground by now?

Possibly? And they at least had some money! Perhaps we jumped at them too quickly? Look at the shit we are back in now?

However, they still sold the Goldstone prematurely, whichever way you look at it.

I think they would we'd probablty be upper championship vuying for a place in thetop flight crowds of 16 - 20-k in a 50 thousand seater stadium with retracting roof on the old Goldstone sight and Hove park.

Or then again - maybe not

I dont think they had any choice did they?

Stanley wanted his money out and the bills were mounting up.....but perhaps Paul S or Alan can remember the exact details.

Remember, everyone. The documents pertaining to Knight and Perry's planning application basically filled the council chamber at Brighton town hall.

Bellotti's and Archer's, for Toad's Hole valley, were on two (2) sheets of A4.

Archer was minted and could have invested his money in the Club? Probably not so inclined to do that with the crowd after his head! :nono:

How will history judge Dick Tight and Perry ? Saviours of the club or a couple of shysters.
Remember when Bellotti took over he was seen as a saviour and his popularity ratings were sky high and other supporters took Greg Stanley to be honourable and believed everything he said.

We await with baited breath

Blimey, never thought about it like that. Makes you feel guilty for shouting "Archer out".

FFS. That is either a wind up or you're not old enough to have been there. If not you are just very very stupid.

Very, very good point - get him in, IF he's forgiven us for being so uncharitably rude to him. What's Bill Archer doing now? Is he one of these "mystery investors"?

I do sometimes rue the way we, as a group of fans, treated Bellotti. At least he communicated with us on a regular basis - bearing in mind Naylor's behaviour since, perhaps he was right when he told us to "stop whining and listening to The Argus" in the programme.

And Pevvers - you make it sound like we should somehow think less of the Archerlotti because their planning application for Toad's Hole Valley was smaller than the Falmer one. Presumably you've enjoyed the endless wait the detail of the current plans has caused us? :nono:
