Reading the online version of The Sydney Morning Herald today, you would struggle to know there was an Olympic Games taking place. If you scroll down past all the ample coverage of the minority sports they get excited about, you will find some scribes who have penned a few columns. One bemoaning their lack of success plus another claiming there was little interest in the games anyway due to the local weather plus the time difference. They had a picture of one person watching the only big screen near Sydney Harbour - The picture was taken at 6am in the morning.

The fact that so many of their athletes have completely underperformed would have nothing to do with it of course.

The biggest joke. - SMH ran an online poll asking readers who they thought had underperformed more: Australia or Great Britain! :D Who said they weren't obsessed with us? :) Even a majority of Aussie's didn't fall for that one - 64% thought their athletes had flopped so far.

I feel sorry for the people in the country who like proper sports and not a bastardized form of wrestling/rugby.

We've just destroyed the Aussies in the Track Cycling. I expect that's another sport that the Australians just aren't interested in. :)

So they're the best at underperforming then? Hang on...
