A friend of mine works in Budgens at Brighton. In fact, he has just left.

At the store, they currently have on their books:

2 Afghan's
1 Pakistani
1 welsh
2 english
2 Hindu
1 croatian and
1 Iranian!

Talk about a mixed bag of people! I wonder if they all have communication problems?

The Afghan's are asylum seekers, not too sure about the others. And to be fair, they work bloody hard and long shifts too.

"A friend of mine used to work at Budgens in Brighton" would have been a better way to start your thread. Is the point of your thread questioning foreigners grasp of the English language?

Merely stating that he has been replaced with Asylum seekers. They do work hard, but more British jobs are being lost here, that is the point.

I have no problem with those Afghans, they work really hard and although they speak pigeon English, at least they are not sponging off the state.

There is also the argument that they are taking our jobs.

What? The jobs that no one wants. I just don't get the argument here. Most people here know where I work, and without external recrutment, no work could be safely carried out.
