I've only put some twinkly lights on the balconies to try and show the neighbours I'm not miserable, but I am. No tree up, no decorations - they've stayed in the loft.
If Christmas can't be Christmas, then I'm not going to pretend. It's a watered down version, and so shall my yuletide accoutrements reflect this. I'm not being grumpy, just realistic.
Next year, if we're back to normal, I'll hit it hard and love every minute.

I have a 2 year old grandson, so this is his first "real" Christmas where he has some idea that its a special day, so we've already gone all-out on the deccies in the living room for when they come over, and I have to say, it looks truly lovely (except it takes me about 10 minutes to go round and switch all the shit off before I go to bed each night). But sitting there with a glass of wine in the peace and quiet, looking at all the twinkling, with a bit of Alexa...I just love that. Plus I'll be off till Jan 4th, with little to no socialising between now and then, so whats not to like ?
As far as being organised...yup, all snorted. She's got a couple of bits to get, but I'm done, dusted, wrapped, tagged and sticky-starred.

This year? No - and I don;t care. There will be no visitors to GT49er towers, no children and grandchildren coming. Why would I bother getting all the decorations out of the loft for myself, then take them all down and put them away again on twelfth night?

I don't normally even put Christmas cards up as I normally go away on holiday. This year I thought. As I can't go away. Make a bit of an effort. Now look how that's turned out. Might as well not have bothered even putting the cards up this year either.
So I suppose Xmas day will be a toss up between Porn hub or Porn hub
Hopefully there will be some wonderful Christmas Carols somewhere on the tele or the radio to remind me of happier Christmases past. There will still be some magic, somewhere.

Finished my shopping in November.

About to finish 10th day of isolation so we can go stay with the mother-in-law.
I'm about as ready as I can be.
I won't be seeing my family this year (thanks Boris / Coronavirus) but I'll be having some sort of Christmas at least.
