Come on Knight - move on! If Gannon had wanted to come he would be here by now. If his heart is not in the Albion, we need someone who's is.

correct.

although i would HAVE loved him to come. once he said no then its over....

then again McNulty said no... and he did us well until his injury.

tbh that's my knee jerk reaction and if we are going to just throw money at someone it doesn't feel right.

that said, while I would be happy with any of the suggested front runners, if DK believes Gannon is the man, I would still back his judgement

(waits to be flamed )

Not convinced. There seems to be a takeover in progress... but would have thought that was the reason Gannon stayed... that more money would be available and the club would get back on an even keel. Can't understand why any group planning a takeover woudl want to get rid of Gannon.

You really are a bit of a twat aren't are you?

All they are trying to point out, is that although we all want a manager asap. The last thing we need is a knee jerk decision that we later regret!

Also show some f***ing respect, I suspect Dick Knights got more brain power and savvy in his little finger than you've got in your entire body!

Yes Dick Tight sure is clever, it's thanks to him appointing his mate Adams that we are in this mess :wozza:

If it's true about Gannon I'm really not sure it is wise. If we're involving other club's politics in our managerial process it could drag on even further. We need a manager by Saturday!

I can't recall NSC ever being quite such a binfest as it has been lately.

It amazes me the number of people on here who think everything in life is as simple as waving a magic wand and having all the answers to hand. It's Dick Knight's fault that the managerial process is taking a while (of course it is, after all, the process of narrowing down a shortlist, interviewing, agreeing terms with and announcing a new manager should take SECONDS in the hands of a DECENT chairman), it's Knight's fault that Gannon turned us down (again, of course it is, any DECENT chairman would have reached into his pocket and offered Gannon millions to make it worth his while). It's Dean White's fault we lost on Saturday, even though we finished with ten players, and even fewer first choice ones. The most laughable thing has been the person who suggested that Malcolm Stuart and the club doctor were at least partly to blame for McNulty's plight, by allowing him to walk off the pitch. Of course they were, after all, it's not like McNulty would have tried to stand up himself, is it, and internal injuries are a piece of PISS to diagnose pitchside, with no specialist equipment other than a bag full of ice, tape and Deep Heat.

Jesus, if you're all that blind to the eminent realities of life, then I feel sorry for your other halves. You have about as much patience as a hungry lion given the keys to a home for ageing wildebeest. A reflection of society maybe? I don't know, but it's doing my head in. I want the situation sorted as much as anybody else, but I'm also realistic enough to know that these things don't happen in minutes, or if they do, then something's probably gone wrong.

Do you all seriously think Dick Knight has spent the past week or so reclining in an armchair, puffing a cigar and watching Loose Women?

Ideally you would think that tonight is the latest we can afford ready to take charge of training tomorrow morning giving two days to look at the players before setting a game plan on Friday.

More likely that whoever it is won't meet the players before Friday at best :(

 I was just about to post something similar and you've done the job for me, thank you for taking time to see some reality.

What's with the 'just get a manager in now' posts? Just anyone? So then there's further scope for moaning when it's not the right appointment?

It's always easy to personalise difficulties. Life and business are much more complex than that.

Oh I think we can be confident that there'll be moaning whoever we appoint- it could be Jose Mourinho with Sir Alex Ferguson as his assistant, and somebody would pipe up with a complaint about Mourinho's attritional style of play

Top post.

Realism, patience and common sense. Three items that make only very rare appearances on NSC.

Nice one! Glad to see someone has taken the trouble to enlighten those that don't really think things through properly. We are all frustrated that we don't have a manager at present and things seem to be going from bad to worse. However to rush anything would be crazy and if we did manage to appoint someone decent in the next few days I'd say that was pretty good going in the timescale.

Lets all get back to the real business and cheer on the lads tonight and I for one will be there

Spot on. It's getting f***ing boring reading people slagging off the potential new manager. To be honest 99.9% of us haven't really a clue about who's been interviewed - we are just listening to rumour after rumour which is the signal to some people to start complaining they don't want so and so because of this or because of that. Whoever it is may not be our ideal choice but we have to be 100% behind him otherwise we are never going to get out of this mess.

you are of course absolutely correct and your earlier post also.

However we are nearing the point where action needs to be taken to try to avert the ultimate disaster of relegation. Tonight will tell us a lot (not necessarily the result but our committment/structure/tactics). If the current downward spiral does continue unarrested we are in serious and potentially irreversible trouble. The season won't be extended just to give us breathing space so we need to remember the real world in that respect as well. There has been some suggestion (from argus reports so possibly leaked by the club) of a change of approach to a short term fix appointment which if true would seem to reflect that reality. That's for the club to decide but if it were the case then the more time the "saviour" has to work his miracle the better.

That aside thank you for being both realistic and positive. Not much of that on here is there :lolol:

For all those people who say chairman who sack their managers in October or November haven't got enough patience we're now seeing why they do it.

Adams could have (should have?) been sacked over Christmas, but Knight gambled and gave him extra time. Now we're firmly in the bottom 4 and running out of matches, with this latest delay potentially costing us another 3 points tonight. The more we sink into the shit the better the bargaining position of the managerial candidates.

I'd be chuffed to bits to see "The Special One" as our Manager. I would be moaning like mad if that sneaky jock bastard Ferguson came anywhere near our Club though!

Made me laugh to think how he would feel about being Jose Mourinho's assistant!:lol::lol:

Severnside Gull, do you think relegation really would be the 'ultimate disaster'? Got to say that I would prefer to watch us beating league two teams regularly, rather than struggle in league one.

And Edna I loved your post. I hate the internet sometimes; it gives morons the power to spout their poorly thought out, ill-informed, kneejerk reactions to things they don't understand - this place needs a post to straighten them out sometimes.

What annoys me and it's pretty obvious,is why haven't the club brought in a loan midfielder to play alongside Jarrett. You can't expect Fraser to perform week in week out in the middle at 21 years of age.Especially as we have a load of mid week games as well. It's a tough job in the center and it's been our week spot all season.
