yeah but hes not an out and out goal scorer the ratio isnt that important
 Oh, thats ok then. Lets just waste a position rather than stick an out and out goal scorer in their. (AJ/Defoe)

So you want to play two strikers up front who play in exactly the same way?

So you can't mention anything specific?

Personally I think Heskey and Owen should still be starting up front together. I think they play well together and Heskey certainly adds something extra.

Johnson is another short striker in the 'Owen mould' and does not really give an option.
Erm....he doesnt score any goals. Is that specific enough?!

If they score goals...YES!! the midfield should provide the assists. I think two very quick strikers, who have excellent movement so the defence cant keep track of them is the way to go. Push the two wingers right up to the full backs so that leaves two on two in the middle...the donkey defenders wont stand a chance with the movement of the speedy fellas. We'd tear em apart!

Not really. This is the argument that people had witrh Scholes. He went through a bad patch of not scoring for England but people didn't look at what else he brought to the team.

I'm not saying Heskey's record for England is fantastic but I think he adds an extra dimension and cuases problems for centre backs. IMO opinion in recent years when Heskey has been up front with Owen the two of them worked well and Owen was at his most dangerous.

We obviously have different opinions on how we should play it. Playing the way i posted above would obviously mean playing it on the ground as theres no use humping it up there with two little fellas. I'd like to see 2 very quick strikers upfront though, no doubt it'll be Owen and Crouch however. (personally think Owen's lost abit of sharpness.)

Heskey is quick.

hehe, lets' end that there.

Owen has lost some sharpness but that will return will regular appearances. Even so he managed to score a lot of goals for Real last year without playing too much regular football. The move to Newcastle has clearly done him some good and hopefully he can rediscover his form of a few years ago.

I think Crouch and Owen could work, I like the littel and large approach. What a lot of people don't see with Crouch is that he is actually very adept at bringing the ball down and playing it to feet, whether it be to his strike partner or to a midfielder. I think this could be a good move.

No Chappers, the problem people had with Scholes was that he is Ginger...nothing more nothing less

its not wasting a position, hes complimentary, holds the ball well and Owen plays well off that type of player

I'm not saying he should definately play, though I would strongly consider him. Defoe is not gonna work with Owen that would give us a similar problem to the Lamps/Gerrard situation. AJ might work (I dont agree with the misconception that hes a cheat/diver) but unfortunately Sven scuppered his best chance of us finding out by sticking him on the wing for 10 minutes. Then he and Jordan put the nail in the coffin by staying at Palace

You really are a cock sometimes...........Brighton Rock was at the march last year, and again this year. He deserves a lot better than he is getting from you.
Banter is fine, but you are overstepping the mark.:nono:

I think you're a bit of a mug if you're suggesting Johnson should play up front for England, especially with Owen.

So he may have got more goals than Heskey ever has. The whole idea is that you pick players that suit each other- Owen has scored a lot of goals for England because Heskey has made a nuisance of himself, winning free kicks, holding the ball up and flicking it on. This therefore helps Owen to play at his best. The tumbler would not allow Owen to do this.

I disagree, just because he went on a march doesn't mean we want to read about this sh!t.

I know I haven't walked around Croydon in support of anything Pala*se but, if the boot was on the other foot, I'll see if I can prove it ....

I'll back you up CHAPPERS. I've always liked Heskey, certainly as a squad player when he's in form.

To be fair, Johnson hasn't had a chance yet but has he really deserved one? Ignoring his penalities, he scored about ten last year. But leaving his goal scoring record aside, he's simply too similar to players who ply their trade with success at the highest level. If he wanted another chance, he should have walked in the summer. The fact that he hasn't should be of some pride to Palace fans I suppose, just don't try convincing me that he should be in the England squad.
