So in summary:

1750 extra seats
Outside toilets
Outside big screen
Second set of steps to the coach park
Application for new offices (presumably next to the East Stand) to follow

Another £4.31m spent by Tony Bloom.

Looks the new lounge will be named "Northern Lights"
The new seats in the north and north east corner look like they account for around 400-500 of the increase. Few clues as to where the the rest will go.

So this is like adding the West middle tier along the top of the North? Yet more 1901/Corp tickets. Great.
They could have made this general tickets and had an upper concourse, increased d the atmosphere/noise in the north and as a knock on the rest of the ground.

"seat spacing" and "filling in gaps" suggests some areas are going to get a bit tighter. May need to be a designated area for the larger of us to sit in future!

Yes, that's right. Final nail in the coffin.

Paul Barber is a very reasonable, hardworking and effective individual - a top level executive and an excellent frontman for the BHAFC organisation. The obvious reality is that the bottom line must always be financial and so, with this development, the last opportunity to improve The Amex as a football ground has been lost.

My only hope is that the transparent nature of this decision to prioritise profit will be accompanied by an appropriate strategy that addresses the need to consider how the atmosphere is generated. A large safe standing area in the NS, with an identified section for those who will lead the atmosphere, must be the answer.

For most of the Palace match the north was ‘safe standing’ anyway.

Not sure why you would bin off the bandstand. Fanzones popping up at every ground now to encourage early/late arrival/departure and we're getting rid? Strange.

And if the North Stand goes corporate, well that's the whole atmosphere done

It's an entirely new deck above the NS, so has no effect on the existing NS. If anything, acoustics may improve with the back rows of the NS then under a lower 'ceiling'.

Indeed but why? Probably because Barber can't make money out of it

Well I guess he thinks he can make more money out of outside toilets and an outside big screen. But would be surprised if the bandstand wasn't tucked away somewhere to be wheeled out for occasional use. Bit of a shame we're no longer giving a bit of exposure to some very decent bands tho, they always seemed to go down well. Still, gazing at a screen is the new normal now, sadly

Apparently there is a 'Control Box' Matchday Experience just around the corner.

You and a few mates, for a mere £750 per capita, can spend a videotastic day in the said CCTV hub watching all of the trouble makers whilst munching on a splendid 4 course menu created by a Michelin starred chef.

Can I be the first to complain about the grainy quality of the CCTV? Barber OUT!
