Could be a pre-agreement understanding perhaps? Maybe Albion agreed to commit now so that Plymouth could show the court their intent to realise income from selling assets. Benefits Brighton to lock him in early and suits Plymouth to have the cash committed. Just guessing.

This is what I would guess at as well. It's seems unusual under Gus for the Argus to name a player if the deal isn't wrapped up.

The quotes weren't in the diary bit, they were in the main article so they'll be online sometime today I expect.

Basically he was just talking about the player by name and saying what qualities he would bring to the team, I don't think Gus would do that if he wasn't very very confident of getting him (or already got him).

Also talks about money being available and he's planning to sign players.
