I always rated Bomber. His good games far outweighed his bad imho. Nothing flash, just a good solid defender (far better than Harding imho). I agree with the sentiments on here - I think he's had a falling out with McGhee, being as he's played 2 midfielders at RB rather than have him in the side. On the field, I can't see that he's done a lot wrong for him to be completely discarded like he has. McGhee has stuck with far worse.

Meopham, Kent.
I've always liked the look of El-Abd, and would be very sorry to see him leave.

I have faith in MM, if he thinks he is not up to it, then I guess he's not. But I would imagine it's due to off field stuff, as his performances have been good enough IMHO.

Race / Tank, any light you can shed on matters?

Doesn't he have an elder brother (Joe?) who plays for a rugby club in the West?

Perhaps his alleged off field antics are more suited to rugby!

Dont think he's ever done much wrong on the pitch.A few errors but thats to be expected from a young player.

I'll be sad to see him leave, especialy as he came through out youth set-up (i think).

But i'll trust McGhee on this one, hope it doesnt come back to bite us though.

His brother plays for Bristol - saw him play the other week. At the end of last season the Bristol rugby team played a fund raiser against Bristol Rovers (play at the same ground) where they played hafl rugby (touch) and half football. Apparently Joe showed some pretty good football skills.

And Adam's built like a rugby player.

I remember last season Dundee wanted him on loan, and MM wouldn't let him go. It must be off the field stuff if it's true....

We've got Dodd and Hinsh to come back, Reid can do a job at right-back as well.

However, El-Abd is good cover and has pace. If he goes I hope its because MM feels one of the reserves like Elphick is ready, otherwise I'm not too sure it would be a good move for us.

I'm not sure its a good move for him either, joining these lower-division clubs.
