I cannot see us getting anybody better than Kermognant at the moment. We need one now not in January.

I think we're okay for now but I certainly wouldn't object to signing Kermorgant on a short loan til Jan if that's what Hughton thinks is necessary. He is a very good player, bit of a set piece specialist too, but I hope we aim higher and go all out in Jan for Bolanos, Calleri or Bou.

Peter Ward was 20/21 when we signed him. Mike Small although relatively unknown had top flight experience in a host of countries, Kevin Bremner had plenty of experience and had been promoted from the 3rd division with Millwall and Reading before joining us to again win promotion from the 3rd division. You cannot compare their signings to the suggestion we should sign Rueben Reid.
Not to mention that there's no comparison between all aspects of football now and that of 25 to 50 years ago.

Anyone clinging onto the Ian Wright philosophy of 'plenty of rough diamonds on the marshes' has had one to many Vardy hyperbole's.

AS I said I am not saying Reid is the answer just to take look at if you dont look you dont succeed Peterborough seem to have made a lot of money and been succesful with bringing in players from lower league clubs.

Not by signing 27 year-olds, they haven't.

Liam McCroary Stenhousemuir.

It's ok though aas soon aas someone points out the maassive flaaws I'll be writing:-

As I saaid I'm not saaying Liam McCroary is the aanswer...

Reuben Reid at Plymouth 27 years old 265 gaames 94 goals? Going out of contraact soon.

AS I said I am not saying Reid is the answer

The very best second account on NSC.

Give him a month contract with an offer to extend if succesful, not a lot to lose as his wage would be nothing like it was in his prime.

Give him a month contract when he hasn't played for 6 months and not had a club since the summer? We'd effectively be paying him to train as I doubt he'd be fit enough for at least half of the games we've got over the next month. How he played in a charity game against mainly 40+ year olds that have been long retired is no indication of how fit he currently is, and there is a massive difference between being fit and being match fit. The fact that he was once one of the best left backs in the game but there appears to be no rush to sign him makes me ask questions.

Paul Scholes looked quite good in that game. And LUIS FIGO.

I'm not saying they are the answer, but...

Obviously before offering a contract even fo 1 month CH would have alook at him at the training ground. He may wll have done for all we know. If signed he could have played in U21 game. I want to see LR back on the right of midfield for our coming difficult away game.

You may jest but I am sure Scholes could still do a job at his fist love Oldham Athletic. not fo 90 mins though.

The issue is though that Bong is due to be back in 8 weeks time, based on the initial assessment. Would Ashley Cole be match fit much earlier than that ? ???

I think we really need someone who'll be in the team within 2 weeks of signing.
