It's always way worse midweek because loads of the trains are THREE carriage affairs. On Saturdays those three carriage trains seem to be upgraded to six carriages, and the additional special services are eight coaches.
Running a three carriage train to serve a crowd of plus 25,000 is madness...
Going to be a huge crowd! I for one am giving myself plenty of time to get there on Friday night... the trains are generally worse on midweek matches than Saturday's anyway. Not scaremongering, just working on the basis of it taking an extra 20 mins or so. As you would going to any big match.
This should be titled Brighton versus Southampton rather than Amex V St Mary's as the council/club etc are bidding to be a HOST CITY not just a venue. If you've been to a world cup (football or rugby) you'll know that being a host city is a really big deal. Surely it's no contest... Brighton is...
When Barbar appeared on The Roar he said he's 'dipped' into the books the supporters club gave him to read - presumably to help him learn a bit more about our history than he already did. It really isn't asking too much for him to have actually read these, rather than 'dipped' which could mean...
Really enjoyed that Spurs FA Cup match a few years ago. Most visited is possibly Watford or maybe Millwall, or Fratton even.
Favourites include Luton, Villa Park, Wolves, The Emirates (not with us yet obviously), QPR, Huddersfield and Barnet. For all sorts of reasons.
Worst ground is...
That is UNREAL! What a complete and utter shambles. Reminds of that weirdo involved in Bournemouth who staggered onto the pitch last season and tried to start a fight with some random bloke in the crowd wearing a leather jacket. Priceless!
I meant selling the actual can of beer, not selling a can's worth of beer in a cup. That's just daft! So that is probably the solution that Azure have gone for...
Oh. So should we expect... PLASTIC BOTTLES of Krony then? If they're selling them from mobile kiosks, and the pint thing doesn't really work, how else will they be selling them?
So does this mean that we're going to get lager versions of the Harveys stands? That would be AWESOME if true. If this happens... please please please allocate two members of staff on each booze stands, one to take cash and one to pour pour pour, especially so at half time. I have often thought...
Surely something like Becks Vier or even Heineken would be a better option if they're only going to sell one lager? A nice 4% everyman guzzler that nobody objects to?
On the catering front... i really do wish Azure would show us a bit more respect by actually taking the time (and the money) to...
my thoughts entirely! i have to say though... i have never actually failed to get on a train at London Road. It's been a struggle, but i've always managed to squeeze in. the open house works well for a pre matcher, by the way, as it's roughly 10 metres from the door to the platform and then 6...
There is no 'they' at London Road, it's not staffed in the afternoons and evenings. I usually catch the train from there... i think Hotchilidog was trying to say that midweek trains, which tend to be smaller before the game than after the game, are pretty ram-a-jammed when they pull in London...
Why? Games finishes around 9.30. That gives you 45 mins to travel 7 mins on the train to Brighton. I've left on full time and picked up connecting trains that have left Brighton before 10 in the past. Let us know how you get on.
This is what happens when you scaremonger... this person is worried about getting from the ground back to the station by 11.14! That's almost TWO hours after the game finishes. You'll be able to leave after full time and catch the 10.14 mate - or an earlier service if there is one. Don't worry
