I usually get there at 5pmish and park on the Malling estate (NE of Lewes), then its easy to get back through the tunnel onto the A27 afterwards. 15 minutes walk from the town centre, 5 minutes from Waterloo's fire site and no queuing at the station.

Its true, for away games certainly, I find a bad result away from home somewhere north of London definitely feels much less depressing once you either get to the service station half way home or to London on the train as 49 times out of 50 everything travel wise goes to plan.
1. Standing in the rain for 30 minutes waiting for the coach to pick us up which was 15 minutes late due to traffic/roadworks 3/10
2. Sitting on the coach for 5½ hours 1/10
3. Watching a stream of the first 20 minutes of the game which crawling the last few miles to WHL 5/10
4. Waiting...
I bet nobody can beat our coaches ratio of miles travelled to time taken - Polegate to Tottenham via the Amex - Pick Up 14:45 dropped at the Ground 20:20 - Left Tottenham 10:40 (would have been earlier except for a police/stewarding cockup) Arrived at Polegate 02:20
