    [Misc] Kitchen extractor hoods

We fitted this https://luxairhoods.com/120cm-Anzi-Stainless-Steel-Ceiling-Cooker-Hood Good lighting, noticeable noise at the higher speeds, but rarely need to extract past the first setting which is barely noticeable. The extractor fan can be detached from the unit and moved to minimise...

[Finance] Self Assessment / Nest Pension

Morning, Hopefully someone is able to help. Something that should be simple seems to be made hard by both the self assessment website and the Nest website not providing a clear working example. I'm entitled to claim back additional tax relief on my nest pension, great! What isn't clear is...

    [Albion] Aston Vanilla tickets

Its a good point, I'm going with the kids as its half term so no logistical issues, there are still tickets available now. Sometimes you just have to do the hard miles to push you up the LP tiers.

[Finance] .......For those of you with offspring either at or planning to attend University

This looks about right, my daughter in her first year (last year) the spend was ~10K, halls on the surface were more expensive than private, some of the cost was covered by the min maintenance grant, some from her summer job and we made up the rest. It was really a waste of money as her entire...

[Help] Have we been ripped off?

£3K maybe, more then 3.5K and they are taking the mick. Its tricky to know exactly what needs to be done without exposing the area, the opening looks to be ~2 metres, but the beam could be much bigger if the walls either side are not solid walls. On the surface it looks a straightforward job...

    [Help] "Crate Training" a puppy

Crate trained all our dogs (4 so far over 25 years), gives a safe space where you know the dog isn't going to eat your shoes, sofa, etc. Therefore no stressful situations when you wake up, come home and have to deal with. The key is not to use it to punish the dog, otherwise they associate it...

[Albion] Graham Potter's Fulham Press Conference

Did anyone ask why are we wasting an additional player on every corner? Is it for the one game when we "surprise" the defenders by letting the player who doesn't place the ball take it?

[News] Staff who work from home after pandemic 'should pay more tax'

Would make more sense if the £5000 I paid to the train company was tax deductible, but it wasn't / isn't. I choose to live / work where I do so its at my cost to make it work, why should I be screwed for more tax because commuting is not happening / may never be the same.

[Albion] Just applied for my season ticket refund .....

No idea why everyone wouldn't just request for their money back. It's your money, the club are not a charity, the money can't be used by them just sits in a holding account. The likely scenario is that there will not be any fans back this season, so the 25% just keeps rolling. I had the same...

[Technology] Whats the best company for home broadband?

Sweeping generalisations, but all are good when they work all are bad when they are bad. Typically the customer experience service is the same, you get a support drone going through the same script every time you call with a connection issue, this happens even if you call with the same problem...

[Albion] Albion v Bournemouth, (grim) REPORT

Good report, it was a tragic comedy at the end, I actually left in a decent mood all considered. Small typo in the Knockaert summation paragraph, "owing his playstation controller" should be "throwing".

I've limited my comment to Wind Farms, so not sure why you are quoting % across the renewable spectrum.

[Misc] The wind farm off Brighton

Where have I said green energy is a myth? Where have I mentioned any other forms of green energy. I'm not trying to be "edgy", "contrary", or anything. I'm not a fan of wind energy for a variety of reasons and was pointing out the flip side rarely highlighted.

[Misc] The wind farm off Brighton

Sigh! Wind farms the green myth. The panacea for clean energy. Everyone just regurgitates the promotional garbage from the company developing wind farms. Can power 000s of homes. yes when running at full capacity and all the homes are 2 bedroom with 2 adults and 1 child. Typical output...
