We don’t really seem to have much of a plan, do we. Not that I’m surprised.

But it’s not like this Wembley is 50+ years old. It’s a relatively new build. You would have thought they could have engineered some kind of mitigating solution in this modern age, even if it’s some kind of roof material that lets a proportion of light through so the shadow isn’t quite so...

For a relatively new stadium, you think someone would have come up with a innovative solution to mid afternoon shadows. Really hard to watch half a game that appears to be being played in pitch black.

It’s because Southgate is stubbornly stuck on the same few players, and lacks the cojones and vision to really go for it. I suspect words like ‘stability’ and ‘established system’ are on post-it notes stuck to his bedroom mirror. He just wants it to be 2018 all over again all the time.
