It's going to be Hughton isn't it...

Hughton ticks a lot of boxes and comes across as a decent bloke but the way he oversaw a consistent slump at Norwich is a major concern. I think we really need someone to galvanize the squad.

Who do YOU want as our manager?

Barber and Burke will probably want another manager they can control. What we need is another Gus type, passionate about his career and willing to challenge decisions and recruitment.

Who do YOU want as our manager?

The current squad is a total shambles and I doubt many decent candidates fancy risking their career and reputation on David Burkes recruitment. Hopefully Hyypia's resignation forces the club to wake the **** up.

It's lucky we have Barber and Burke to oversee the forthcoming transfer window.

Wouldn't be suprised if the final straw for Hyypia was reviewing Burke's January list of targets.

It's lucky we have Barber and Burke to oversee the forthcoming transfer window.

David Burke should hang his head in shame. Hyypia never stood a chance.

    An Experienced Assistant

If they are hell bent on retaining Sami this makes sense. What concerns me is the club have shown little desire in bringing in experienced old hands who may challenge them. We'd probably get another chump.

Tuesday: a day for a new emotion?

Still disbelief for me. He should have gone after Rotherham.

Bloom sacked Slade after only 15 games yet Sami is still here??

Brezovan replacing Smith in goal had a big impact as well.

    If Not Now, When?

Reckon he will be gone by tomorrow morning. It's just a deluded few who dare not dissent or challenge Bloom that have prevented this happening already.

BBC Sussex reporting the club are making an announcement at Noon today

It is clear things are only getting worse under Hyypia and I think retaining him is now down to stubborn pride. The Boards desired outcome for this season was another play off push. During the summer, many of us on here realised the chances of that were non existent - mainly due to Burkes...

So next manager, who's in the running?

Burke and Hyypia out, Coppell and Mcdermott in.

    Virgo and Dicker

Hyypia going will only be a short term fix unless David Burke is removed. Poyet couldn't work with him and Oscar wanted out after Burke pinned the blame of a poor window on him. His record is appalling.

Oh dear. Now I feel sorry for Sami.

Totally untenable but I actually feel sympathy for him now. He''s been screwed by David Burke and with an old head alongside him he might have got more out of this squad.

Brighton & Hove Albion V Millwall ****Official Match Day thread****

Risky selection, Ince must be wondering why he's left out and Chicksen over Calderon at Left back is a big gamble.

Bozza tweet - free agent Alou Diarra

He was a bit hit and miss last season but he'd walk into the team ahead of Gardner, JFC, Holla and Toko. Some quality, experience and game management awareness is exactly what's missing in the middle.

    Performance of the Month

Colunga was very good against Norwich.

What has the Board seen in Hyypia that we can't see

For me the only possible reasons he's still here are: 1) The board now admit his hands have been tied by the recruitment led by David Burke. 2) The financial implications of sacking him 3) Stubborn pride.
  18. Y

so what are we all expecting from the Millwall game...?

We will fall apart and lose 5-1 in front of about 12k.

    Board meeting today about Hyypia

On the possibility of contingency planning I did hear that Hughton and Calderwood (his number 2 at Norwich) have been seen at our recent games.

    Board meeting today about Hyypia

If Hyppia stays at least we can confirm the board is comprised of yes man.
