    Uckfield Lewes line to re-open?

On a related note, all London NSCers will have noticed it's all about to "kick off" as it were around London Bridge for the Thameslink works.

    Uckfield Lewes line to re-open?

Do you ever see that condition changing?

    Uckfield Lewes line to re-open?

While I don't claim to be as well informed as experts such as Lord B, I would be surprised if this happens. There was a report into it happening last summer and Network Rail worked out it wouldn't be cost effective to do so. However the group that is keen on it reopening claimed the balance had...

Your best side of the Withdean era

This list makes me realise, we've only really had two proper right backs during our time at Withdean! Watson and Whing. Inbetween them(nearly 4 years!) we had a collection of stand in's from other positions like Reid and Hart. I wonder if RB was our least covered position in the last 10 years.

Greens win Euro Election in Brighton and Hove

Just to clear something up about Nancy Platt, she hasn't been parachuted in from London. As far as I am aware, she was/is a nurse from Worthing. I also think the Greens may well get Brighton Pav, they may be able to capitalise on the usual unpopularity of a local authority(in this case the...

    Gordon Brown again

I take your point but they could certainly do with some more heavyweights. I'm quite a fan of Milburn, although I'm sure Brown hates him.

    Gordon Brown again

Ahhh if only Robin Cook was still around now, we could do with his experience, intelligence and competence!

    Gordon Brown again

I thought he goes as Labour leader first, then PM. As I understand, that's what happened with Blair. The last act Blair did was resign as PM, but Brown had already become Labour leader by then.

Anyone been on holiday on their own?

It's odd you mention this because I was just thinking about that very topic while I was at work today. I fancy a few days away to relax and clear my head, and perhaps on my own would be the most relaxing. I'd still like a trip with other people at some point soon but I fancy a nice change of...

    Tube strike on Weds

True. I just see Jubilee Line as being always fully packed with tourists between L.Bridge up to Bond Street, as it goes through Green Park/Westminster/Waterloo.. Met line on the other hand simply whisks you into deepest darkest NW London, and I don't think many tourists have an urge to see...

    Tube strike on Weds

Your travel card would cover you up to Wembley Central, as it is in a London travel card zone.

    Tube strike on Weds

I said it would be the better option IF the tube was running. The Met line zooms along from Kings Cross, unlike Jubilee which stops at all the stations inbetween.

    Tube strike on Weds

Is your ticket to London terminals? I think in these circumstances they have instructions to accept them via "any reasonable route" Otherwise head up to St Pancras, walk to Euston, and get a train from there to Wembley Central.

    Tube strike on Weds

RMT leadership threatens strike over wildly unrealistic pay claims and avoids reality over duplication of jobs Transport for London But this is... I think there is a better route if the tube is running, carry on with FCC to St Pancras, then get the Met line from there direct to Wembley Park...

    Tube strike on Weds

I try my best  The walk from Victoria to the South Kensington area is quite pleasant so it would be perhaps a blessing in disguise to have to walk it instead of tube it..

    Tube strike on Weds

Science Museum could be worked in if you go to Victoria, you can walk it from there just about, and then you can walk from there to West Brompton to get the train up to Willesden Junction and head up to Wembley..

    Tube strike on Weds

If you give it a bit of a think and the weather isn't too bad, you can have a decent wander about too. Go up to London Bridge on FCC, a nice few drinks round the river/grub. Jump back on FCC to go from L.Bridge to St Pancras, 5min walk to Euston, then get the Euston to Watford Junction train...

    Tube strike on Weds

Don't worry, so will I. I mean I can easily get the bus into work but it means I have to get up earlier... It was rather a mental day in London last time the strike was on, the roads were far busier and I had to deal with some useless letting agents while trying to dart round London via First...

    Tube strike on Weds

I was debating that with a friend, I think maybe this time it won't be called off. There have been multiple strikes that have been averted in the last couple of years so I think Bob may well go through with it this time. Before people moan about it happening, there has only been the one I can...

    Tube strike on Weds

And in a way that is surely a better route to take then having to go into central London and meander out on the tube?
