[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

Standard muddled thinking. I suspect that because the middle four blocks of the West Stand are basically sold out they think that there are supporters who will go, but not behind the goal. Either that or they are caving to pressure to East Standers.

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

Very doubtful. No upper west tickets have been made available to Charlton and they’d already asked East Stand season ticket holders to relocate to the West Stand, so it would be strange to now do the reverse. You never know with this lot of course. Any Brighton fans in the lower west will be...

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

For Brighton fans that do end up in the West stand, I would advise keeping a low profile unless you think you can handle the wrath of the thermos flask and tartan blanket ultras. You might think the Holmesdale Goths are scary, but this lot will give you nightmares.

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

I’m not sure what the logic is either. It could be to do with turnstiles or segregation outside the ground, but I would have thought Charlton and Brighton could mingle and use the same or neighbouring turnstiles without trouble. I think they probably want all Brighton fans arriving at the south...

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

Yes they’ll be okay, but your hardcore will be in a different stand and as it’s the top tier of the west stand they will be quite disconnected. Quite a lot of them won’t even be able to see the away end from there. In my experience that can make a bit of a difference.

Much better view, but a far inferior atmosphere in the upper west, especially as it looks like the rest of the tier will be empty.

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

It’s not a lower league ground though. It was a premier league ground, then a championship ground. The ground hasn’t changed, it’s just that the players have got worse, then much worse. I don’t want to be a dick on another clubs forum, but if you think Charlton, Crawley and Forest Green have...

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

To be fair, the away end is the oldest and worst stand in the ground, but at least there’s a nice view, unless you’re stuck behind the bloody great pillar in the middle. Based on what I’m reading on here and on Charlton Life there’s a good chance you will outnumber us on the night.

‘It’s not all about Bournemouth, Brentford, Palace and Fulham, son. In the old days we used to have to go to stadiums like this.’ He won’t believe you.

I’m not sure where you’re getting that figure. At £15 a ticket and proceeds split, plus the cost of stewarding etc Brighton would need to fill the East Stand in addition to the away end to get near that number. I can’t see it, but maybe the lure of a night at the Valley is stronger than I realised.

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

If Charlton sell better than expected (unlikely) we can open the top tier of the West Stand. The east stand will be available. It’s just an access issue and the police might have a say.

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a couple of blocks in the East Stand being made available to Brighton, but it’s problematic re access. The club is such a shambles at the moment that anything could happen. They have no idea what they’re doing, no experience and no clear thinking.

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

Not forgetting that Bjorn Borg is a Charlton fan of course. The return of Curbishley was talked about ever since he left, but there aren’t many left who really thinks it’s a good idea. He works on Charlton TV now, so has watched the horror unfold with the rest of us. Regarding the football, you...

Having read that I’m honestly surprised you didn’t get the job. He might actually have taken some of that on board. He even sacked the much loved comms bloke, so maybe that’s on you. I think the main thing that counted against you is that you’re not related to him as that’s his main criterion...

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

Duchatelet does own the Valley and training ground, so only an idiot would buy us now and sure enough one did. Thomas Sandgaard didn’t buy us from Duchatelet though. We had two other groups of all out crooks and conmen in between. So we have a complicated situation where Sandgaard basically...

[Albion] Carabao Cup Fourth Round: Charlton - 3rd allocation of tickets

Hello lads and lasses. Sadly we do not have a good owner and the club is stagnating badly. Our owner is a Danish/American egomaniac who said we’d be playing European football in five years then embarked on a drastic cost cutting exercise. We’ve got a few good players and a good manager, but...
