So the bigger question there is with Forest looking decent enough in a spell once behind, and given how expensively their squad was to put together, that they’ve only managed 30 points before the deduction?
Hardly the best comparison in the world.
I’ve never put so much stead in managers tbh, end of the day you rely on a great group of players. As you say, with a fit firing group we were up there with the best, right now I think you’d fancy playing us over everyone else including Sheff Utd and Luton.
But
i accept your point to a degree...
Is Enciso fully fit? Welbeck finds a Thursday - Sun probably tough too. Would Veltman have made any difference? Similar result and we’d perhaps be asking why he doesn’t play some of the youngsters?
Baleba’s omission surprised me though out of all of those.
I wasn’t suggesting it was completely forced on us, but youngsters getting first team experience and minutes will help them in the long run.
Was Van Hecke injured / taken ill in the warm up? That couldn’t have helped plans either.
Did we start with 9 under 23s today with 4 teenagers?
People need a serious dose of perspective. Our model of developing youngsters is going to come with a few dips in form along the way.
It’s amazing that we can be furious Potter has the audacity to leave, then 18 months later with our first dip in form for over 2 years we’re demanding our manager be sacked. Bit of a joke really, only it’s on us.
Completely agree. MotD spot on too. It’s a subjective decision. As fans we have to accept that incident could be a foul for some refs, not for others and none of them would be right or wrong - straddles that area of football laws that can never be definitive.
How many players in that defender’s...
I wouldn’t call 44 points wheels coming off with the injuries we’ve had. It’s not an excuse, it’s a fact.
Got some really bright looking youngsters bubbling up. Maybe a step back and we realise it’s a decent set of wheels ready for next season.
Antony scores, but easily could have gone down, but probably because of the good refereeing not giving a foul for Garnacho, the Brazilian out of character stays on his feet - a novel approach for the modern footballer
Garnacho doesn’t get a pen that if it was Pedro we’d all be shouting “if that was ManUtd” it would be given. Good refereeing, there was contact but not enough to constitute a foul
Completely echo that, it’s our main rival, but I think there is a subtle difference between detesting a side and hating them.
I can take defeat to Chelsea more than I can for Palace, however I do genuinely hate Chelsea for everything they are and stand for. Palace - I just want to beat them...
Bart is the youngest keeper in the PL, unusual generally to have a no.1 that young.
In his run of starts, Bart did appear to be making more mistakes, and rightly imho, he was rotated for City at home.
None of the goals were Steele’s fault, ridiculous to suggest they were, so the selection...
Think we have to accept some ups and downs. This is Dunk’s first notable drop in form I can remember - there’s people saying let him go in the summer on another thread…what’s going on with us as a fan base!!??
Where’s our loyalty? Can’t demand it from players and managers then have a ‘clear...
Sadly other than a couple of outliers like us last season, final PL places won’t be too far off the money table.
With the players we’ve had available this season, and the amount of minutes the fit ones have had to play - we’ve done well to still be fighting in mid table.
But the NSC narrative is to:
1. Blame the manager
2. blame Jason Steele
I suggest you get on the NSC binary train as posting factual stuff about injuries is just isolating you from the pile on.
Baleba for me, when Steele passes to him, if he turns he’s got acres to run into. He’ll learn but he should have had that mental picture, instead he plays back to Barco who’s too young to realise it needed a hoof at that point.
