Agree with you, I think people hang on the manager being responsible for everything, but there is always a point their influence ends and the quality you have out on the pitch starts.
My overall take is we’ve had 2 very good managers over a 5 year period. Feeling more confident this time...
As we found with Potter, you can play all the different tactics you like, but if you create chances it all comes down to whether you can finish.
This season has been Potter-esque in so many ways, ultimately do you have the quality in your team to score goals.
Hope to break out of the top 10, I’m only just getting used to not being in a relegation battle!
Let’s put this into perspective, this is only our second full season of not being involved in a scrap. Yes we finished 9th the season before, but we weren’t out of the ‘scrap’ fully until that late...
To be fair to him, he’d just been battered, he also wished everyone happy new year, a few judgements being made on the utterances of someone straight after a brutal fight.
In the press conference afterward he was much more measured and likeable I thought.
But we didn’t, we may have tried our best with the criteria we set - what you don’t need however is your manager calling it out whenever he gets a chance.
Without all the injury problems we would have been a lot more competitive in what is a decent finish still all things considered.

Me neither, think we’ve had the lion share of decisions. Webster slip first half, Lamptey lucky not to see red. Pedro, Enciso, Buanotte, Adringa going down whenever touched has been pretty shocking too - can’t complain when you don’t get one when you’ve been throwing yourselves to the ground all...
If the release clause is a decent enough mark-up on what you pay, then you’ve had the benefit of the player and a profit - even if that means they go for a bargain. Only downside is you can’t control when the transfer happens.
