    [Finance] Help to Buy

Thanks again Kosh. Next time I am in Alnwick (probably this Saturday) and I see any Albion short I will introduce myself. For some reason my knackered old laptop did not show all of your previous post, it has refreshed and it is showing it now. I'll take a proper look at your example and the...

    [Finance] Help to Buy

Hi Kosh, Alnwick eh, I know it (quite) well. In fact, I am wondering if you are chap I saw, and complimented on your Seagulls T-shirt, outside the former Co-op on Bondgate Within a few months ago. I totally agree about HTB, it was/is pretty outrageous and I am wondering if we will one day see...

    [Finance] Help to Buy

Thanks Paulie. The property is in England, outside London. Not sure who the administrator is. One of the problems is that they do not really want to pay for an approved survey just go get a settlement figure (in order to assess the suitability of the offer) and then have to do another one...

    [Finance] Help to Buy

Morning all, Do we have any Help to Buy experts in residence? I am trying to (roughly) estimate the total cost of final repayment for a HTB loan taken out by a family member 9 years ago, so they can assess whether the cash offer the have received is high enough to be able to accept. I have had...

[Albion] Best European ground to visit for a game….

I saw Roma win a 5 goal thriller v Messina there many years ago. Totti got the winner. Was ok but these big stadiums aren't particularly atmospheric for 'ordinary' matches (same as San Siro, way too big for all but the biggest games). Advice for Stadio Olympic - ignore the touts and go to the...

[Albion] Best European ground to visit for a game….

It's Germany or Holland for me when doing European weekends, always great fun. Feyenoord is class, but I recommend stay in Amsterdam. I really liked Eindhoven. Koln was great, both the game and the city. I got to a Dortmund game which was ok (check the club website for their 'tourist deals', I...

    [Misc] Gas/Electricity provider recommendations

I heard some tory fella blaming the regulator for the failing providers in the market just the other day. Funny old world isn't it, tory politician blaming someone else.

    [Politics] Brexit

Thanks Springal, that is interesting. So why bother physically stamping passports if it is electronically stamped? Surely the system will tell the border staff if I cannot enter as I have used up my visitor from a third country allowance......

    [Politics] Brexit

Slightly different, but very much related question for the NSC sages... Is the 90 days in 180 days actively monitored? By that I mean do the border police of the country you enter somehow record the date of your entry onto some kind of database? I always thought that the "scan" of the passport...

    [Misc] Electric Cars

It may well do that, I haven't really looked - I have just worked out how to turn the radio on the air-con down. Any first hand experience would be appreciated though, rather than getting the info VW want me to get!

    [Misc] Electric Cars

Interesting discussion this. I have just taken the leap from 5 years of hybrids to full EV. Anyone on here have any recent experience of charging up on a longer journey? I want to do Newcastle to Sussex soon but have no idea about how accessible chargers are on the M1 service areas, how long...

[Football] Hasenhuttl - New signings should be BANNED from re-arranged games

I agree with him, I would not be surprised if some teams that requested postponements due to Covid-related absentees, were trying to buy some time (to the January window). But I would only stop the teams requesting (and being granted) the postponement from playing their new signings in the...

[Football] A killer stat from a Toon point of view.

Interesting thread this. I was thinking earlier today if this is the season we actually finish above NUFC. I hope so, I w as nth some proper bragging rights over my friends/colleagues. Agree with some points made earlier though, particularly about expectation of fans, and the local press. I can...

The current Chief Executive of the civil service down there used to be my boss. If you meet him I suggest you talk about rugby (union) rather than the mighty Seagulls. Enjoy your our time there.

    [Misc] Building extension

I have just had my extension completed (waiting for sign off from Building Control). Approx. 2.5m x 5.5m single story, knock through from exiting kitchen/diner, tiled pitched roof, two Velux skylights (manual opening - pah), just short of 4m of bi-fold doors, loads of new lights and sockets, new...

    [Help] Buying a hybrid

You are right Mackenzie, limited electric range but that was enough for us going round the doors each day, and tremendous fun to drive. Had a back up diesel car for longer journeys/holidays - that helps!
