It relates to marginal gains. Important with lesser players. Teams with the best players can mostly play any style they want because ultimately the better players you have the better you are.

He was to blame for one of the goals, with a poor back pass but that’s it. He even made two goal saving tackles. This result is absolutely not his fault.
