Blimey just had a look - 10 men after 5 mins and won 3-2 95th min winner after Lyon scored in 92nd... no wonder they were going beserk. They don't like each other much either I don't think (Lyon amd Marseille)?!

Before PSG were a thing, a bought thing, Lyon and Marseille were the two biggest clubs for an age. Fans hate each other.

Under Hurzeler we are always going to be vulnerable to fast breaks. We simply don’t have the pace at the back to cover. We will learn and improve but expect us to concede these sort of goals because it’s the way we play. Hopefully not as often as the last two games.
Points dropped? Maybe but that is football.
If you watch all their goals again Dunk is nowhere near where he’s meant to be. Simple push that back line back 10 yards and we probably win the game hardly rocket science.

If you watch the second goal Veltman is 5 yards behind playing everyone on.

Dunk, Van Hecke and Estupinan were fine there, Veltman messed up but when you're playing a high line it's going to happen.

No away fans allowed after last season fair to say they hate each other. Even Maupay looked competent and stuck to his job well.

Concerned about Minteh and Ruttner being really crap but costing £70m
Haven't read on through all of this thread but thought Rutter had a half decent game yesterday, some clever touches here and there and certainly puts in the effort- I have no doubt he'll come good. I think a few could do with tempering their expectations that every player we sign is going to be 10/10 every week and score 20 goals a season

Minteh we can all see has potential to be excellent but certainly frustrating at the moment, though Adingra wasn't any better yesterday. In general Forest full backs played well and nullified our threat from wide. I was most baffled by the sub to bring on Williams who Mitoma had on toast for parts of the 2nd half, can only assume it was forced by injury

Two points dropped. Last week I thought Ipswich earned their point, they were disciplined and worked extremely hard to keep us out. Forest imo were gifted two goals. Once we had established a lead we should have done better at holding on to it. For me the crucial period was the opening 15 minutes of the second half, we created so much pressure and played with an impressive intensity yet we failed to convert that into a match winning goal.

Yet another 6/10 performance for me. I like a lot of what I see, but we are clearly nowhere near reaching our potential at the moment.

There’s a naivety and selfishness in front of goal we need to eradicate if we want to kick on. When Welbeck wriggled through a simple five yard pass to Mitoma gave him a tap into an empty net, like they did with their goal. It’s costing us. .
In fairness, a striker should always be shooting there. Just not straight at the keeper like Welbeck did. But that’s why he’s playing for us and not a top 4 side anymore, because he’s not a natural finisher.

Am I the only one who thought Rutter looked ok today?
He looked better second half IMO but was pretty average in the first.

Adingra was very poor. Mitoma was once again kept quiet and we didn't look we had any threat whatsoever. He came to life in the second half when Forest were chasing the game because they allowed him a bit more freedom. Slightly worrying if all you need to do is keep him quiet and you keep Brighton quiet. Even more worrying that relegation fodder like Ipswich and Forest have worked that out and executed it well.

For all our huff and puff in the first half we never really looked like scoring. Two bits of brilliance just before half time made it an interesting 2nd half.

Think enough has been said about how poor the referee was but even if you put aside all the incorrect calls he made how many times was he in the way of play??

faster maybe but compared to the breaks that Forest made we were slow , once the defence has 8-10 behind the ball its going to be very hard to score.
That’s because Forest had (as you point out) two battalions across their 18 yard box - we, as also pointed out by numerous posters, afford teams loads of space - hence MGW operating a touch/bang tactic every time he had the ball. It’s easy to look quick ‘in transition’ (yuk) when there’s a PRAIRIE of openness in front of Bart. Hurzeler’s Brighton are still more dynamic and direct than GPott’s & RDZ

Not sure if we are better or worse under Hurzeler than RDZ, Wolves away at start of last season was pretty quick breaks. If you hit them quicker there wouldn't be two battalions across the 18 yard box, what's more is they are running back facing their goal rather than standing behind ball and facing up field. I get the playing at the back but once you have sucked everyone into your half the ball needs to go forward quickly and that can be through the midfield or maybe more quickly out to the wing.

We just see thing differently and yes we are not helped that Mitoma, Pervis and Enciso seem to have lost some of their pace following long term injuries.

A big and very rare error from Veltman cost us the win - but we should have been 3-1 or 4-1 up by that time. The forwards need to take responsibility for putting the games away. We should have shown more desire to win at Arsenal, and were lucky ultimately that they didn't take their chances on the break. Ipswich got what they came for but we really should have put Forest away. We were all over them, dominating in every aspect but despite that we didn't threaten their GK enough. And he's no good, so if we had got plenty of shots off at him we would have scored more goals.
