Good analysis from Shearer of Albion's high-risk high defensive line over the season which isn't working as it should.

Hopefully the lads and the boss will take this on board.

Shay Given gave a lot of praise to Mitoma, especially the defensive side tracking back.

"Mitoma's at the heart of everything they're doing, he can go inside, outside, can he get the cross in, of course he can."

As for the sending off, Shearer and Given fully in support - "it's the right decision".

Forest deserved absolutely nothing from that game today.

Their penalty was never a penalty, the player waits for Baleba, then steps left into Balebas path and leaves his leg trailing looking for the contact. It’s a dive.

2nd goal from their only shot on target came from a bizarre foul by Welbeck when he was in possession and turned out of a challenge. Not helped by the fact we’re playing an insanely high line for two centre backs that aren’t exactly blessed for pace.

That was a strange decision against Welbeck. It looked like Welbeck just turned to protect the ball and was run into by the Forest player?

In fairness i thought initially it was a penalty, and I also disagree Forest got exactly what the deserved, they defended resolutely and broke with pace. City and Chelsea will have a field day with our high line.

I full expect us to come away with zero points from the next three games.

I am normally over frustrating games the following morning but I am still pissed off that we didn’t get the three points this morning.

The debatable penalty and the softest of equalisers is infuriating when we did enough to have won the game comfortably imo.

As an aside I watched the game on tv and was shocked to see how much the stadium started to empty out with 10 mins to go at 2-2

Bit rich slating fans who spent their money and made the effort to go from your armchair.
Slating? Just surprised that so many would leave with the game at 2-2. I am guessing that you were one of them?

As for not being there, I am abroad and there was a bum on my seat until the end of the game

I also thought that we should have won that, coming back from 1 down against any EPL side should be applauded, it's not easy. Our problem was not getting a 2 goal lead when we could/should have, we completely dominated Forest in the first 20 minutes of the 2nd half.
Taking Baleba off was the turning point.

On the fans this has been done to death. The public transport to/from the Amex is scandalous. I had a quick pint after the game yesterday, then regretted it when it then took me over an hour to get from Falmer to Brighton.

If we are 2 goals or more down with 10 to go, I get it. I just can’t ever envisage leaving a game early that is all square unless it’s an emergency or I am time restrained, party, flight or whatever. Leaving to avoid a delay afterwards is something I don’t get but as you say each to their own. The swathes of empty seats just surprised me as the game was exciting and could very easily have gone either way and the joy of a very late winner would be the highlight of the day. Think back to the extra time penalty by Alexis Mac against United at the Amex. Imagine missing that because you wanted to get home a bit, or even a lot, earlier

I am not saying people should not leave early, just that I find it odd.

Baleba off was the right move imo, that ref was very card happy, but it didn’t help in our quest for a winner.

The quick pint is a mistake.
Stay for a leisurely two & transport's calmed right down

I'm similar, but I'll admit when my kids were primary school age then I'd leave early to try to avoid the worst of it. They are older now so we don't anymore but it is why I don't judge other people now.

The club can't improve the public transport, although I'd love to know what they are suppossedly getting from Govia for the money they pay them to sub the train tickets? What would improve matters significantly though would be to erect covered queuing for the trains and park and ride.
Being stuck in those queues is bad enough but if it's chucking it down or threatening to then it's 10x worse so people will leave to avoid it.

I'm getting bored with oppo fans moaning about it too, loads of Forest moaning in the train queue yesterday "do you have to put up with this every game" was asked by more than one Forest fan.

The high line tactic looks even worse during that MotD2 analysis, obviously I suppose because they only show the goals we've conceded and not a highlight package of offsides, but still it seems the chances we concede (1on1's) look much easier to score from compared to defending deeper.

The trick is to have two slow pints

Edit - seen I’ve been beaten to this advice!
