They are more than allegations if he’s been sacked - BBC wouldn’t dare do that without incontrovertible evidence and following due process.

Well, quite, but from a libel perspective as I was partly speculating the reasons for his dismissal, they are allegations.
He was freelance rather than BBC staff it is not such a big deal. you simply don’t give him any more shifts and possibly pay him off for those booked.
As for your second point, I actually thought he was a decent pundit. But I like Chris Sutton so arguably have appalling taste.

Inappropriate in the workplace, almost sexual assault. It was also witnessed so not ‘behind the filing cabinet’.
Most women have had some sort of harassment in the workplace, and now something is being done about it.

What constitutes a pass today? Not very much I reckon with the wrong person who is reserving the right to be offended.
It may well be cut and dried but there's no reason whyTalk Sport will have been made privy to the evidence, which I'm sure the BBC will have seen, hence the action they took.I’m with you on this old boy, if it was that cut and dried Talk Sport would have dropped him like a stone, not had him presenting one of the most traditionally listened to shows ( when we are all going home, hence drive time) within minutes/hours of his sacking breaking in the news, and it’s not happened overnight with the apparent due process by the Beeb yet TNT had him commentating on the opening game of the EPL
Even after he’d gone off air, the TS news bulletins were stilll leading with his soundbite about there being two sides of the story and him consulting solicitors.
Surely if he was that ‘banged too rights’, brief statement and then slink away.
Because the allegations are based on texts JJ allegedly sent, it's not merely a case of the complainant's word against his. The only element which can be questioned is whether his messages were encouraged, solicited or reciprocated and whether he could prove they were. Presumably he couldn't.

Both the public service side of the BBC and the commercial side (BBC Studios) employ freelancers and both employ people full time.
That's why Gary Lineker's pay is published (as a freelance employee), but you wouldn't know how much his company is paid for podcasts.
As Jenas was also working for a "competing" radio station, he's wasn't a full time employee in the normal sense.
It's really complicated these days in that industry. The Graham Norton show is made by his own original production company, but that production company is now owned by ITV.
The BBC buy the programme, but nobody knows what So Productions pay Graham Norton.

Not sure what he is alleged to have done, but many a partnership / marriage would not have happened without someone making the 'office pass'.
