Clearing out some of my father-in-laws bits and bobs for e-baying. This was amongst the stuff.

cats are fantastic models ... bright sunshine can be a photographers worst enemy.
Cats are great, the rabbit was behaving too :)

I am learning a lot but yeah sunshine and shadows have been my nemesis recently. Along with my camera having a narrow dynamic range.

Took some really informed advice from a few of you on here, reference the lens needed, thank you. I’ve a lot to learn yet but at least I’m getting reasonably close sports shots.

Took this last Tuesday, Selsey FC v Arundel FC, at Selsey.

I love your photos. Is the "noise" something you're happy with?
I can't remember if it was asked before, but it looks like high ISO to me. The pictures are old school in effect and I like it.

Its funny you say that because I only noticed the noise when I posted them on here??
I wonder if it is something to do with how I am exporting them from Lightroom?

Total newby question but which one is the noisiest? So I can figure out what I am doing wrong.

So I looked closer and they are noisy. This is the info for taking them. It was a sunny morning with lots of shadows in the garden and I was struggling with dynamic range - especially with a white rabbit.

The photos we a little underexposed to stop the whites blowing out. Is it a combination of this and cropping the photos that has caused me problems? Surely that ISO isn't too high?

I’d try to keep it to ISO 800 max on that camera.

No need for such a fast shutter speed on an (almost) static animal.
Thank you, The shutter speed was fast because the bloody thing was hopping about a lot and I am not that confident with a quick change.

800 is low, going to struggle with that I think.

But yeah that makes sense for that pic a slower shutter and lower ISO.

There is a lot to learn and a lot to take into account while shit is changing :) :)
